I am not working right now as I am in a country other than my own so I am not able to work here! But, yes, I have had those times when I hated to go to work and like you it was because of the job itself. I don't know how old you are but have you considered going to school? There are so many great options now for people wanting to further their education or get a degree. My daughter has been doing this for 2 yrs now and only has on more term left before getting her degree. She has been doing most of it online as she is working full time and has a family. Oh, and I have to brag a bit, this term she is on the honor roll! Yeah, Brandi! You can do what ever you put your mind to!

I am continuing my education online as well because I also have a family. But I would really like to work for myself.

Hey, I just did some googling and I came up with this article that you might find interesting. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/collegeandfamily/raisekids/4realjobsyoucandofromhome.aspx?page=1
This article gave some ideas and also some companies that are hiring to do work from home and they are not network marketing. They actually pay for the time you put into it and they hire you so you are not having to pay for a job! It was pretty interesting and I am thinking about looking into it further also! Good luck to you!

I don't think like everyone else. My thing is not that I'm not a hard worker, I am. I cannot stand the thought of working for someone else. I have actually run my own business in several fields (Painting, Landscaping, studio engineering). It is just not a pleasing thought fir me to have to go back into work for someone else. Busting my hump to make this guy rich. No disrespect to anyone punching a clock, but I quit my job yesterday!!!(5/11/08) and I never felt better!! Feel bad cuz they were nice people but I couldn't do it anymore!!!!

Exactly people work very hard to make someone else rich while you are paid peanuts considering the amount of revenue that just one employee can actually generate for an employer and the little people are the ones running the business.

Yeah, I think I can relate. I sometimes really like my job, but a lot of times I dread going there. I have a problem that is aggravated by stress. Just being at work is stressful enough and I don't feel well once I am there. I work with a lot of people both with the public and co-workers and I don't think working with people is a natural inclination of mine. I would rather work on my own work.

I think we have a lot in common. I work really well independently and also work with mainly the public and of course with co-workers whom I dislike spending the majority of my day with.

I never thought anything could diminish my love for my job. I teach 12th grade English. I've met my wits' end, though, for a couple of reasons. Students are generally disrespectful and totally unmotivated, which can be very frustrating. Worse, the economy has caused a number of reductions in our oay, with many more expenses. For example, we no longer get any supplies; we have to buy anything we need. I never dreamed I'd be this poor after about 40 years in the classroom.
Still, though, it's great to work with yound people and turn at least a few into life-long readers and writers. There's always a bright side!

I agree teachers don't get paid what your worth. I can't believe how quick they are to cut education budgets when the youth are our future.

what do you think the best choice is? leave your job and chance not finding a new one. or even a better one? or tough it out while you finish your education? my husband is a prison guard, and while he loves his job, sometimes he absolutely hates everything about it. but he is sticking with it because he knows that one day it will pay off for him to stay because it will lead to better law enforcement opportunities. he sees a lot of stuff that he really doesnt want to, and has had to fight a good bit. which choice is right for you?

Dear Tynetta, welcome to the club. I dread waking up most mornings (6 am); leave the house by 6.45 and reach office at 7.15am. Office starts at 9am - all this just to beat the traffic. I look forward to Fridays; but just hate Sunday evenings - I'd feel very deeeeepressed! Well, it's been like this for the past 10 years - I need to survive, pay bill, etc..so I'd enjoy life as best as I can - turn off the office persona after work and on weekends (totally not accessible to office staff, except emergencies). Take my parents shopping, hunt for books (my passion), dining and wining with friends and spouse, and laughing with the kids (my sister's - 8, 5 & 2 years old). A de-stresser from the miserable weekdays !

I know that a lot of people stay with their employer and are miserable because an employer provides a steady pay check and this is security for maintaing your life style. I have learned the hard way that even working with an employer is not a guarantee of income. I was laid off from 2 jobs within two years of each other(2004 & 2006). Needless to say this was a hard blow for me and my family and thats when it dawned on me that my financial security will be within my own hands.

i like the people at my job most days but i dont really wanna be here, i think there are so many other things i could be doing. plus 80% of the time i'm bored out of my mind!! it sucks.. but i know i'm lucky to be employed and i get paid okay, so i'll stick it out at least until this 'downswing' goes back up and i can find something new. i wouldn't leave until i found something better.. but who knows, it could be worse than this place
