I haven't read any good books lately, but I do love reading. My local library has many new books that I would love to read, if I get the chance. I read because it makes me feel alive. TV just drains me. I don't like that. Maybe I will get a book soon. Most of the books I read are children's books or technical.

I read alot, more than people my age thats for sure. I prefer dystopian and classic stuff, sometimes mysteries. My favorite author is probably franz kafka, I think all of his work is amazing, second to Poe, whose works I think are amazing as well. I do most of my reading at school (if its not summer or some vacation), otherwise I read before I go to bed, reading tends calm me down.
The last book I read was slaughterhouse-five, which I thought was great. I think I am going to go to the library later this week and pick up angela's ashes and requiem for a dream, those are supposed to be good.

Here lately the only books I've been reading is my text books. I do like to read, more so when I am reading for pleasure. I don't have a favorite author or a favorite book. If I can get into a book within the first few pages then I like it.

Now I dont want my husband to read this or I am gone :). I love reading and if I could I would read 24/7. I often buy books and hide them or but them on the shelfs (as he never knows what I have there) and read them when he is not home. I am going on a trip and got 3 books "Body farm", "in the name of honour" and "angels and demons" and guess what I already read 2 of them so today I went and got 2 more Dan Brown books and didnt tell my husband. I dont care what I read mostly. I do tend to stick to a subject a lot say I read a good book about slavery then I tend to read more on that. Also with the author I dont have a fav but if I like someones writhing I try to read all their books.

I am reading a brilliant book at the minute, called "The other Boleyn girl" and it is written by Philippa Gregory. It is a historical novel that was first written in 2002 and has recently been made into a movie.
It is a great read and this is the sort of book I really love! There are another three books that follow on from the other boleyn girl and when I have finished reading this one I shall be tracking them down.
I do most of my reading at meal time, I am very rude and will read my book while I eat my food. I am not ignorant but this is truly the only time that I get to read and it is a relax time for me. I also get the chance to read when my daughter goes to bed as I read my books to her too.

Hi miamilady! I haven't been reading as much as I used to before. i used to read a lot of romantic novels, autobiographies, management and marketing books and inspirational/motivational books. I guess, that has been a long time now. The only books that I have been reading occasionally are inspirational books from a local author/writer from around here.
Take care and have a wonderful day!

I just read "Cross Creek". It's written by Margaret Kinnen Rawlings. She is the author of Old Yeller. Anyway, it's an autobiography of her life here in Florida. She even went with a friend on a boat trip down the St. John's river and ended up in the lake where I live. She mentions my town and the surrounding towns in her book. It's really a very good book.

Dear Miamilady, I love books, and would like to be able to read a lot. Crime, detective, horror. Favourite authors (quite a few) - Ed McBain, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Lawrence Sanders, Elizabeth George, Martha Grimes. I usually read before I go to bed, when I'm tired from blogging or during weekends. The last book I read was The Old Contemptibles by Martha Grimes. A murder investigation set in London. Main characters - Scotland Yard Supt Jury and his friend, Plant (who has given up his title - eight Earl of Caverness - to be a commoner). Great suspense!

I saw the movie Mystic river some years ago, and thought it was excellant. Yesterday and today I read the book. It is extremely well written. the movie followed the book surprisingly well, but the ending had more to it than the movie did. Dennis LeHane is the author. I haven't read his other work, I suspect this is the best he's done. I llike different authors for different things. I read alot. Alot- so depending on what my needs are I may prefer any of the popular women writers who have series mysteries, but if I'm weary of crime, I will look for a rosamund Pilcher book. There are alot of men whose work I like too. An all time favorite of mine is Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth. iw as so happy when Oprah read it, and made it a book club choice. Its been out for years- I read it in 1993 I think. and over the years have given it as a gift to many friends.

Hi miamilady.
I used to read more than I do now. That's because I spend most of my spare time surfing the internet, posting, and writing articles for the net. That doesn't leave much time for reading.
I like suspense thrillers, mysteries, funny books (like those by Janet Evanovich), and alot of nonfiction. I like biographies and true crime books also.
Hmm, good question on the favorite author--there's so many to choose from. I really like Jeffrey Deaver and Harlan Coben for the suspense thrillers. I like Sue Grafton for the mysteries and Janet Evanovich for the funny books.
I tend to do most of my reading late in the evening right before going to sleep. Occasionally, I read out by the pool after I swim my 100 pool lengths.
Take care.

I read quite a bit. Right now I am reading a book by Mike Wallace, he wrote one in 2005, giving highlights of some of what he thought were the highlights of his career I guess.
It is pretty interesting. i also have World Without End at the library.

I read just about everything and am always reading something.
I do a lot of my reading on my breaks at work and in the evening. Thankfully I read really fast so even with just leaving a book in my car to read on breaks I can get through one in about a week.
I've been reading a lot of Tad Williams lately. I picked up one of his books because I needed something to read on my breaks (I had finished a book earlier in the day), and found that I really liked his universe creation.
