Looking out my sliding glass doors at 7 pm CST it looked as if night had fallen early. It was pitch dark outide due to the clouds. Then the color of the clouds turned green in color and the tornado sirens cameon with there errie cry. The sirens stayed on here in Lincoln Nebraska for three hours, never before have they stayed on that long. Right now there is a lul in the storms and some peace outside, but more storms are on te way and the weather man on TV warns that over night whie we all sleep in we should hear tunder or strong winds we should move into out basements or shelters.
Living in the mid west you get used to all of this, however this year so far has been terible for tornadic storms. Today in this storm 4 boyscouts are confirmed dead, while camping at a boyscout jamboree, and dozens othersare wounded. Lincoln was hit and parts of it look like a war zone. I have never seen a war zone, but I would imagine that buildings with there roofs blown off and trees up rooted would be comparable. Thank good ness my son was not at that boyscout camp as two years ago he was. I can only imagine what those parents are going threw as there son was just at camp for the summer.
What is up with the severity of storms lately? What is going on?
Tonight i hope i will get some kind of sleep with more storms on the way. Just last week a tornado touched downin Omaha at 2:15 am...
The sirens here sounded for three hours straight. To be honest living in the path of these storms is unerving.
Can anyone explain why the weather is getting more violent?
Where do you live and what kind of storms do you get?

You might be used to it by now in the midwest, but in the east tornados used to be rare. They seem to be occurring all the time even here. Storms are definately more powerful then they used to be. I hope that the people who say it is because of global warming aren't right. At this rate, the world may becoming a very scary place.

Oh, really? I guess I have heard that tornados are beomming more prevalent in the East. A few years back a cousin of mine living in The Bronx said that a small tornado hit there. So wierd.
I agree with you that the weather is getting out of control and sometimes I like you question, what that means for those creaures that inhabit the earth right now...and in the future.
