Do you feel older or younger than your birth certificate

Hi everyone, I have been feeling quite good lately and am working toward becoming a bit more health conscious. My birth certificate says I am 65, but my mind is saying 40 tops. I haven't felt this good in ages. Perhaps being on the old age pension has given me a bit of relief from financial worry, and that accounts for part of it. but all in all I feel great.
So my question to you is how do you feel I would love to hear from any one who cares to answer. Thanks
Robin

Well I'm told I was born in 1950 but I feel closer to 85 than 58. I have several health issues and I honestly think I would feel better if I was a happier person. My living situation needs some housework. I'm not being abused I just don't have anyone to help make me happy.

My birth certificate says I am 58, but my face (someone said )says I am 45. And my mind says I am 21. Sometimes I feel my mind and my body can not coordinate ! Why ?
Please help finding out the reasons .

Healthwise I feel a lot older than my birth certificate states. mentally and emotionally I am much younger. I am a kid at heart and I refuse to grow up ever. I feel in my mid to late 30's.

No problem if you respond to my discussions or not. I enjoy posting them no matter who responds, or how many responses I get. I think age feeling all has to do with what a person does with their mind throughout their lives. If one keeps their mind active tn=hen they will or should not have the problems of feeling old mentally etc. Dad got lazy after mom passed away and I think he is this way mentally due to that. Now that he works word search puzzles daily his mind seems a tad better but will never be the way it was prior. But mentallity is the key to the age we feel I think. If we feel old we will age that much quicker. Thanx also.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi Bob, do you not believe that that it is not a matter of growing up but rather of growing old mentally? As you well know you dad didn't choose to be the way he is. It is a disease or a condition that has him there, and I think we all really want to remain young even if it is only mentally. I may not always answer your posts but each and every time I see your name I do think of you as his care giver and for that I thank you for being the great person you are.

yes that is me in the picture taken with a web cam so all the lines and wrinkles are blured, they are there, but I consider that I earned each and every line wrinkle and gray hair, Life is not about being easy, life is about learning to find our happy place, and keeping it healthy.

I agree and I am hoping also when I will reach that age, I will be very positive and feel younger and happy. Inner happiness will always make us glow and bloom..

Hi Robin,
how are your dust bunnies? I also feel very young, tired by young. I'm 56 and feel like i'm 30. I not ready to get older, I refuse to get old and I also refuse to grow up. So when I can, I will do as much as i can. Because you reach a certain age, one may not be able to do what we can do now. We have to enjoy life as much as possible, we never know when the day will come and we leave this world.

the dust bunnies are happy in there own little place, one question to you another person answered that it was all about numbers and to a degree I agree, but isn't it staying at aplace where we were and are happy. when I was 40 I had left the abusive hubby, lived on my own, learned that I could survive very nicely that way. my stress factor went from 99% to about 30%, as I still had 2 kids to support and worry about, but it was very do able. Now I have most of my health, and my life while not woo hoo is good . and I am happy

I always say, that our age is just a number, some people feel their age others don't. It took me a long time to actually get my own place. I felt bad to leave my mother by herself. She worked she had her own car and she knew how to get around. When I finally got my own apartment I was in my mid's 30's. So me and my daughter finally had a place to call our own. We had a great time. I would go back to that time if i could. Way to go in leaving that man. I always say, I don't need a man to get me through life.

Other than retirement or old age pension, what have you been doing to become more health conscious? I am 51 and today, I feel older! I am pretty sure it is from stress and lack of exercise! I have started doing some walking so I don't feel quite so stiff and sore but I am still sore when I get up in the morning!

th get and remain healthy I listen to what my doctor tells me to do. I take all my medications faithfully, I use an elliptical trainer (just started this week) I walk as much as I am able I use public transit, so there is no hopping in the car for me, I am on a healthy diet and have lost 24 pounds in the last two month, still have about 30 more to go.I have a great outlook on life and I don't let stress get to me I deal with problems when I first notice them I don't ignore hopping it will go away.
Are you aware that there are excesses that you can do in bed before you even step out of bed, unless its like me and I need to run for the bathroom, because that is what woke me up

Yep, that is what wakes me up too! LOL! I have 2 chocolate labs and one night there was knocking on the door about 1am, the dogs sleep in my room and were barking, my daughter heard them and the knocking, but not me, I slept right through it! LOL!

Hi there Robin :))) You know most of the time I can not believe I am 47 already. I don't feel like I have changed mentally from the girl I was at 21. Sometimes I look in the mirror and think man I still have it going on. Then the next week I feel every single year. I see the crows feet and squint lines in my face. I morn the youth I have lost. Then I realize I am still growing as an individual and woman, and have never felt as feminine as I do right now. I am beginning the first stages of menopause, and it is causing me grief, but I am getting a handle on it now, I realize that it can only get better from here.... LMAO so I suppose the answer to your question for me is a little of both.

I have to agree with you that menopause is and can cause a bit of grief, I went through it at 42, and was very fortunate but I have seen other women struggle with it and still at the same time dealing with semi grown children, it can be trying but hang on to that feminine feeling because that won't go away if you do not let it. thanks

I hate to tell you this but as a young person that happens a lot. And better it should happen now rather than when you are past 50 because it is stress, and stress is what makes us old and tired and if we are 20 we are able to deal with it better. I am not putting youth down but I wouldn't want to repeat any day I had under 40.and it was between 40-50 that I leaned to handle stress to a degree that I was able to get on with my life.

Oh you look young Robin. Me, my birth certificate says that i will be 28 on September but i feel I am more like 17 or more of my age. Some says I am a late bloomer and this is the time only when i feel I am enjoying to have a crush and not to have a boyfriend. Do i look like 28 on my avatar? Care to answer. Thanks.

from your Avatar i would have guessed that you were in your early 20's. and a small word of advise STRESS is the ager, it is what ages us faster than any thing, so if you are able to accept "what is here and now" you can work on your dreams but trying to make things happen only is an exercise in frustration. Take care

Unfortunately, I certainly do feel older than what my birth certificate states. And I know just the reason why I do feel this way. With all the problems and struggles I'm facing now, it's not a puzzle that I look and feel matured than I actually am. I've been married for more than five years now and the error of not saving as much money as I could way back my 'singlehood years' is taking a toll on me and my physical appearance now. Aside from this, I can't help but worry about our financial status. At present, I'm the only one working because my husband is out of job. We have a daughter who is turning three this year and this still poses a struggle for me, because in two months time, she'll be celebrating her birthday. Honestly, I couldn't really squeeze anything from my monthly salary since almost all of it goes to paying off our outstanding monetary obligations totalling to about two thousand US dollars.
Anyway, it's great to hear that other people like you are feeling good nowadays. Well I guess you're right in believing that it's partly because of being a pensioner.
God bless and take care.

You have my sympathy and understanding, I too was in your position when my children were 1 and 3 and a husband that didn't believe he should work, the worry and stress were huge. I actually had forgotten all that until I read your post, all I can say is hang in there It will get better when your children are older and you are mo financially stable, good luck dear and take care

I'm 64 and can't believe how fast the time has gone. I have to say I feel pretty good, I'm still working for survival. I still feel like a kid when I hear certain songs, growing up in the fifties. Right now I'm listening to Sam Cooke. The station is the golden oldies. I can't believe how old my children are getting. LOL.

Isn't that funny how a piece of music can take us back instantly to "that place in time". I loved the music of the 50's 60's 70's but now listen mostly to classical. I have a classical music station running through my computer, other wise I believe I would be wrapped up in the old songs. enjoy I agree every time my kids have a birthday is when I am reminded that I am also a year older. lol

LOL I love questions like these LOL why? Because at the tender young age of 37 I mentally feel like a kid, I have the spirit, spark and awe of a kid but man oh man my body SO DOES NOT follow suit LOL..On a good day I have the body of a less than healthy 70 yr old...on a bad day...I have the body of a corpse LOL BUT I'm always very young at heart and like a fun loving carefree teenager or child

I am 65 and I have always looked younger than my years. However Z went gray prematurely, and so people think I have always been a blond. I found I felt a lot better after I got the Old Age Security, that meant I could spend money whereas before I was afraid to.
I have always been a salad eater, and the only change I made was to eat butter and less margarine, although since we do not eat at restaurants where there is butter, and since I have not yet mastered making whipped margarine (the water does not blend in)sometimes I have to use margarine. I was unable to give birth to children during my marriage and adoption is not the same, because you do not have that pregnancy hormone in your body that makes you more responsible, I have never felt my age. In fact, sometimes my mind feels like I am in my twenties, although the outside says that I could be in my thirties or forties, depending on whether I am losing weight or not.

Yeah, ofcourse, every old people use to feel like that, because its basically in the childhood days, they are very active, and they use to took the natural foods, which is having more energy, and it keep them healthy, but now a days, none of the vergitables are giving the good health to the body, because those are grown up to the manual properties like "Urea" etc.
So, the natural health protention has not been espected from the vegitales from the current days..
and also in those days, there is not much transportaion facility like today.. they use to walk for the long distance, even 5 kms, 10 kms.. and later they use to cycling for the long distance, these will improve their body conditions and also, since they are very active, they will fall with any of the diesesses..
But now a days, all are working in a same place under the Airconditioned Room, and by eating the Pizza and burger.. the are calling lots of dieseces.. so, they will feel like old as 60 years plus, when they at 35-40 years..
And also in the ancient days, every one should have children in a dozzens.. but you see in now a days, the people are walking to the doctors for a kid even after getting the marry of 10 years or so.. even by spending a lakhs of Rupees they will not get it succeed..
I just stop this response at this point.. please.
Any how thanks for the discussion..
