Do you ever cruise through your dictionary just to learn new words?
Have you ever checked out ArcaMax Vocabulary? If you sign up with them they will send you a new word every day and it can be rather humorous sometimes.
Today's word was "crapulous." Go check out the meaning..... They also offer a new word in Spanish everyday.
This is a great site to share with your children and they will be adding to their vocabulary. Have fun!

Yeah, I like learning new words and what they mean.
I remember our teacher gave us a new word that she had found
that even she had to look up to find the correct way to pronounce
it as well as its meaning. It wasn't for any test but for fun.
We played this game at least 2 times a week and we all got to put a
word in the pile of new words.
The word was pusillanimous....
First we all got to guess what it means then try to spell it.
You sure can learn a lot when it's fun and not a "have to do thing"
Thanks for the name of the site I will have to visit soon.

Very good! I looked up the definition of your word. I keep two dictionaries on my desk, one is also a thesaurus and large print. I really am struggling with this age issue and what it does to my eyes.
I love learning the new words, but it doesn't mean that I can recall or remember them all. LOL

i am an English learner. and i try to remember new words everyday. it's hard for me to recite single words, cause i can forget them easily. :) so everytime i come across some new words, i write the whole sentences down to my notebook. it works. but i still can't remember those words permanently. i take the notebook with me everywhere, so i can see the sentences now and then. BTW, my notebook is very cute. :P
