You spend lots of money to get an education and then you can't find work.......?

I sat in my room and stared at the diploma and certifications that I spent thousands of dollars earning. I spent hours wondering why I did it when now I couldn't even get a job in my new field. Talk about depressing......:-( I was just about to give up and take another low paying and dead end job. I was wondering how I was going to pay off those school loans. Well, after sending out more resumes than I can count, that phone call came through. I just completed three days of doing what I am trained to do. I am so stoked and I now feel that it was all worth the stress and long hours of tedious study. My new field is Phlebotomy, alias, bloodsucker. I am so happy that I ventured out and in my mid-fifties learned something new. It wasn't easy but it sure gave me back my self-esteem and I feel wonderful! I would encourage everyone to try something new everyday. It doesn't have to be returning to school. It can be as simple as learning a new word everyday. It will definitely keep you young of mind. What would your wish be?

i know... i finished political science about 2yrs ago and still stuck in a job outside my field/specialty... i know i can get jobs related to my field but then the salary is not enough for me to survive... so now, i'm stuck with a job i don't like - i know it's an easy job that pays good enough but still, it's not the same as when you are in a job that you're passionate about...

My youngest daughter is in the situation you are. It is disheartening. I finally got a job doing what I am trained to do. I had to stay on the search until I found something. I also will be learning to do other projects tht will continue my education. Good luck in finding your dream job!
