June 12, 2008 1:49am CST
I'm back guys!!!And i'm very honored to announce that Aqua Fortis Dragonboat Rowing Team (Philippines!!!), my team, had bagged the GOLD for the 500 meter-race, Women's Crew. Thanks sooo much for all the encouragement i received from all of you and much more on the prayers each of you made for our country. Once again, we stand undefeated and i thank God for that! Our men's team were 5th placers out of around a hundred teams who competed. Our mixed crew too placed 6th! All the hard work finally paid off and once again our country was recognized by others^_^ It was an honor to have raced for our country and have been chosen as the official flag bearer of the team. MABUHAY TAYO!!!

Oh WOW!! Hell YEah!! Go Team Philippines!!! I hope that our country would give more support to our athletes. They give they Blood and sweat for the country yet only a few knows and gives them credit. I hope the ever so great PRESIDENT can see this!!! GUMISING KAYO!!! These Athletes makes our country Recognized in the World Map so you the government shouldn't just give them credit or medal of honors or names in record books, give them financial and long term support!!! sorry my response turned into bitter sentiments to the government. It's just sad that you would read or know these kind of news here in a forum not in local news with the president!!!

a big thanks to you Karazu...Ranting is most welcome here since i am also disappointed with our government with regards to their support to Athletes. Honestly, we shouldered all expenses during international races. we just got lucky with sponsors because they were very willing to lend us a hand. last year, channel 4 accompanied us during the whole of the race and even guested us when we came back here in Manila. that in turn helped us earn publicity like newspaper interviews, magazine features, and the likes. But we weren't invited by Malacanang to do a courtesy call and that sucks big time (we got gold that time too). this year, it was zero, NADA, KAPUT. no media coverage, no anything! we were mentioned in Bandila on their segment about bits and pieces of news around the world which was ok, come to think of it. at least we had that. our win this year is even bigger than last year's. our men's team rose from nothing to fifth which was worth commending...also, competing against almost a hundred/or a hundered or more teams isn't a joke. LOL...i'm sorry i'm ranting too. these trivial stuff frustrates me :D anyhoo, thanks again and take care :D
