Does anyone know if they come in the mail? I could swear thats what the lady said in the hospital. Its been about two months since my baby was born and I still havent got it yet.

The laws may be different from state to state but in Missouri, we have to wait about 6 weeks after the baby is born and then fill out the paperwork the hospital gave us and send it in with a fee and then the Birth Certificate is mailed out in a month or so.

The lady at the hospital who filled out the form for SS did the paperwork for the birth certificate too. She had me make sure that my boyfriend was there to sign it so she could send it in. I would think I would get it in the mail. But Im hearing from people in my community that you have to go to the courthouse or the health department to get it.I thought that was just if you lost it and its not the original. Im so confused lol

I think I would try to contact the hospital for information about it. Maybe someone in the records or billing department could tell you. You might could check with your court house but if it's like ours, they are no help. They just pass you to the next person and no one ever knows what department you need.

The hospital I went to was so crappy I never wanted to end up there. I had a doctor at another hospital but got switched due to being a high risk patient. It sucks when that happens. I will be calling the hospital tomorrow. Well see where I get with that.
