This topic is about smart sentences that other peoples have said or that were written somewhere in the past. Do you know any of them? Last time I've found quite smart sentence myself.
"Believe nothing,
no matter where
you read it,
or who said it,
no matter if I have said it,
Unless it agrees with
your own reason
and your own
common sense."
-Buddha
I think that those are really wise words that required a lot of courage to be said.
Do you know any smart sentence or quotes? Maybe Einstein's quote or some other famous person? Maybe someone important for you have it's own wise sentence? Share with us. We will all get smarter thanks to your response.

I love quotes. Some of my favorites I have no idea who said them. Then there are a few that I do know who said them.
'When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.'
'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.'
'Faith is the soul riding at anchor.' -Shaw

Every quote and sentence here was really great. They are very wise and most of them are very heart moving. I think that it's just IMPOSSIBLE to choose the best one, but I really want to give this BR price to someone. That's why I will give the price to the quote that moved my heart the most. That is...
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain."
I will give the BR price to you RebeccaLynn.
I can trully say that all of you here are winners, couse such knowledge is priceless. Cheers!

I love to collect quotes and have a notebook full of them.
This is a more recent favorite:
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Teddy Roosevelt
I found this one particularly meaningful after the press and supporters of President Bush in the United States started acting like we were not supposed to critisize the President.
Another of my favorites is:
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." Martin Luther King
And:
"Christians have burnt each other, quite persuaded. That all the Apostles would have done as they did." Lord Byron
Hope you enjoy.

Fill your hands with something tangible
and fly your love like a flag
and destroy the desire for that
which is impossible
and accept what you get with a smile

I like that quote from Buddha. So many people will just write something off just because of who says it. This seems especially true in the world of politics. Winston Churchill certainly had a myriad of very good ones. Tennyson and Goethe are other favorites of mine in the quotes department. For song lyrics, Garth Brooks is the clear winner in terms of the depth of wisdom (for me anyway). One very short one I love is from Goethe: "To be pleased with one's limits is a wretched state." I also love this one from Tennyson: "The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions." One of my favorites from Mark Twain goes: "Don't part with your illusions. When they're gone you may still exist but you have ceased to live." As you can see I tend to be drawn to quotes with a motivational, "follow your dreams" kind of theme.

Hi! I know a few quotes but i dont remember all of them.
Lord Buddha said " Have a heart as wide as the ocean." "Be Good and Do Good."
You yourself,as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection : Budda.
The Gita says "He attains to peace unto whom all desires enter as water enters the ocean which filled from all sides remains unmoved not he who is full of desires."
I know many more as my husband is a spiritual person.
Regards.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

Mine would be the one I watched from Six Feet Under. It's "Let's Make Life Less Challenging". I just think it could apply in so many situations and especially to those people who are rude to others *laughs*.
