Technology, it is a good or bad?

Hey gretarose I think this is a unique question. There is no doubt invention of computer is superb man made machine.Now a days we can not think without computer. Even a poor class family also having computer according to their capacity. In India there is compulsory course of computer. Hence computer is a part and parcel of computer. Net browsing is an added advantage . Poor but meritorious students who don't have money to buy costly books can use computer and download the study materials with minimum expenses.. Earlier for seeking service one has to depend on postal service through which he suppose to send his bio-data etc. that too with anxiety whether it will be reached in time or not. But now a days within a fraction of time your bio-data and other attachment will be received by your employer through e0mail. I think it is not bad to use computer by kids provided they utilise the machine according to their necessity and not for other purpose. In modern era computer is essential for human life. We can know all happenings of the worlds on our finger tips simply using net. pkc3000

technology is neither good nor bad, it's how we use it that makes it either beneficial or detrimental to us. that's my take on it. there are a 101 examples out there to make up for any argument. take for example, a child using a computer to do research for his school project. certainly, technology helps the child out. what if the child decides to ply an on-line game instead of doing his research? certainly, that will be to his disadvantage. just my thoughts.

My family has been into computer gaming shop business since the early days of Atari and Nintendo Family Computer. Right from the day that my parents began shop operation, negative comments from relatives and friends suddenly came out. According to them, it was a very bad decision that my parents engage in such kind of business. Well, I have two brothers and three sisters and we were considered to be bright kids in school. They thought that our exposure to such environment (family residence then was just above the shop itself) will eventually jeopardize our studies. The shop as our bread and butter and that my parents didn't hire any helper required us kids to give a hand on daily operations. Naturally, the most exposed of us were the three youngest ones. Anyway, it was a good thing that both of my parents did not dwell on those negative remarks. They had enough faith in us -- they believed that with proper guidance, our focus to our studies will not be diverted. Yes, I can say that my parents were definitely right. They had properly instilled on our minds the true value of education. Presently, we are into internet cafe business but we have yet to prove if the same discipline will be effective to my 6-year old nephew.

No way.. Technology is good.. Wen we consider a student computer and other technolog gives him or her a great oppertunity..So according to me Technology is good for students and everyone.

Technology can be a good and a bad thing, it just depends on what technology you're speaking of. I love technology.

technology is good as well as bad, when technology develops a lot we don't try to do things by ourselves, we depend on technology, But in many fields it has helped us a lot Like in Space technology, it has helped us a lot, missiles, these help to destroy the meteors coming towards us, at the same time it destroys lives also! Hope you use technology in a right manner!

of course it depends on the person if they will use it for good or they will use it for bad... coz we all have the freewill and technology is just made to help us easy all hard works we have... and as long as the technology don't step on our humanity its good...

Every advancement in technology has it's pros and cons. We are not leaving in a perfect world so everything we developed and do, has it's pros and cons. We should learn how to adapt to make use of the very purpose of the new technology. Just like computer games, it compete with your child studies. As a parent we should not be afraid to confont the child that there should be balance in what he/she is doing. We must instill in him/her to have a discipline in what hes/she is doing because it is hurting him/her self and others. My first son also like playing games. So that it won't affect his studies we set studying and playing hours for him. We compromise and he agreed to it after several discussions and confrontation. He now managed his time well and is also doing ok on his studies. We should always be watchful of what our children is doing so that we can correct it while it still early once it got to a point of no return we can't do anything and all help will be hopeless. We can only hope and pray that our children will grow up as good citizen of the world.

I think technology is a double-edged sword. Sure it helps us out an awful lot, but we must not become too dependent on it. If we do ever encounter a severe interruption in our electricity or computers we need to be able to survive without it. I think we are at a point where most people would already be in a lot of trouble. I was reading recently about someone getting chewed out by a client because her company had moved into a new building and it was not available on the client's GPS. Have we reached the point we can't read a map or follow directions that aren't given step by step as we go? Another issue I see with technology is a lack of real life interaction. We are so busy texting and calling each other we will ignore the person in front of us to answer the cellphone or send a message. As a society we allow this and do not even take it as a sign of disrespect. Will we progress to sitting in an isolated room texting people as we eat from a food machine rather than meeting for dinner or lunch? And my final issue is that of technological singularity or when computers become smart enough to make themselves smarter. When we reach this, at some point those computers are going to realize how stupid we are compared to them...lol. It sounds like science fiction, but it is not at all far-fetched. We have already reached the point where we need machines to fix other machines. This being said, remarkable things are possible today because of technology. I enjoy my technology. I have a cell phone, computer, microwave, all the trappings of a technologically advanced society. I would miss it if we did not have it.

Technology, tatolly is good. The internet let us from different country could talk together, it let thw world become small. Give more convenience to us, improve the our world. Do you think the develop of our life is good? Although technology bring some problem to us, everything have two aspect. We don't because the problem then say technology is bad.

Technology has enabled people to think beyound the limit.Now you are in edge of internet which has given us lots of freedom even earn money from home so beautiful. But this is not so green every where many people are not still not aware of those technology so it is not so important for them. Technology has made our life so simple you cant imagine.consider for one day you don't have computer, internet, radio, TV , mobile,AC, car all elctronic equipments which we use in our common usage. Will you technology or not ?? Definetaly you will miss it lot .But other side it has some side effect as well if you don't use these technology carefully it may destroy your life.

For me,I'm not a parent.But my parent give me free,and never restrict me using the computer.Every thing has two sides,good or bad.The choice is given to people.So even you can control your child now,but you can't do it all the time.
