With so many people in MyLot's community from so many corners of the world I thought I'd pose a question I'm really interested to hear some feedback about. How do you feel about the US? Do you agree or disagree with the policies of our (The US) government? Are we seen as heroes or the bad guys of the world? What is your opinion and view of the United States of America? Please elaborate.

I'm from Turkey. Not American people of course;but your policies, especially to poor countries don't seem good. It seems very ugly. And not seen heroes, like bad guys... I believe that whole humanity on the world can be good friends if the policies can allow that.

I completely agree with you on that one. I am glad you recognize that the government policies are not a reflection of the will of the people here. We have an irrational criminal in the White House and I believe before its all over our government will be responsible for the destruction of humanity.

Wow sounds like you've been through the wire man! I believe most people are generally good at heart and don't want these injustices to exist. In the US we are so complacent now to what our government is doing and its the apathy that is going to be our downfall.

You're very right dear Shamsta.I'm from Turkey you know. But I'm trying to interest what happens whole over the world. So I think so many American people don't want racism & colonial wars. And I think that those people like you will change that bad reality.I hate of wars, every kind of racism. That's why I stayed in prison for 6 years.

And we say the same thing about your country. It's popular belief right now that our oil crisis in America is due to China's increase in oil consumption. I am just another person living in the world. As far as it goes up to me we are all the same. I have no qualms with you. I asked this question to get a worldwide perception of America. You have helped me a little bit so I thank you and welcome you as my friend.

I have no hatred towards your country or you. No disrespect is ever intended. I just like asking controversial questions to provoke intelligent response and have equally intelligent conversation. As I said I welcome you as my friend.

Well from where I live I think the United States is a very powerful country and I would consider my country to be more peaceful but maybe just a little weak. We or our government appears to be softer than they should and allow things to happen and think we all wish for it. It would be an intersting country to visit as we hear so much about it but I would not class the people as either heroes or bad guys as every country has its' good and bad points.

You see and just like you the average American knows nothing about your country except it's governments policies and Paul Hogan. I would assume that our government is the face of our country and you never know about its individuals. I hate being labeled as such.

Franckly speaking,in lots of chinese' minds, the United States is a country deserve respect although it always create trouble for us.That is not just because the United States created tremendous material wealth but also its contribution for the ideological progress of human society.Although there exist various contradictions between China and the United States, we should learn humility from it.

That is a scary thought for me. We are responsible for the "ideological progress of human society." I am from America, not that I consider myself much of an American, I am that. As a whole, even I consider this country to be lazy and greedy beyond our means. Our government is going to lead us to hell and it is a scary thought that other countries may be following in our footsteps.

In the overall scheme of things, yes historically we have made many advances but right now I believe our government needs an overhaul. Some serious change is necessary with all of the worlds governments...

Yes,your government indeed didn't do well in many places. To some extent,it even often breach the public indignation around the world. But we should not forget the Declaration of Independence issued by your predecessores.Just like France's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, they are the sign of human progress. And also we can not deny the merits of American people ,optimistic and enterprising.
