Accidents on the golf course.

I've seen a few accidents on the golf course over the years and I'd like to read about other people's experiences. As I'm an amateur, once I hit the 150 marker which was less than 30 cm in front of the ball. It hit the marker, rebounded and almost hit my playing partner on the opposite side of the fairway. (It looked like he had a heart attack) It was past him in around a second. I've got other stories, but I'd just like to get this discussion going first.

Oh gosh I love hearing golf stories! I've got two short good ones for you! The first one my friends and I went to an indoor driving range before high school golf season started to practice. I was the most experienced out of all my friends so of course I wanted to show off. Well there was a really cute guy in the little lane next to me and I got nervous so my hands started sweating. Well I took my back swing and swung really fast all the way through and ended up throwing my club out into the range! My club went farther than the ball! Oh my gosh I was soooo embarrassed! And to make it worse the guy in the machine driving around and picking up all the balls made a big spectacule of picking up my club and bringing it back to me. The other story is I was playing in a golf tournament on my high school's team and it was one where we actually had recruiters and parents walking along with us and watching and supporting. Well on one hole I hit my approach shot to the green and I yelled fore because it was going towards a crowd of people but it must not have been loud enough because I ended up hitting someone! When we got up there to make matters worse I found out it was my opponents father!!! :-O Whoops!

Your opponent must have been upset with you! One of my friends also let go of an iron at the driving range and then ran all the way and back to get it. Another friend of mine swung and the head of my driver flew into the range and more recently one of my fairway metal heads flew off aswell!

This happened to me before! I was on the receiving end though poor me. To think that I don't even play golf! The club where my dad plays doesn't usually allow non-players on the course, but one time I was really persistent so the manager allowed to drive around my dad's golf cart. I just like going up and down the slopes because it's so much fun! Anyway, a gold ball almost hit me while I was lounging against one of the trees near the 16th hole. I had quite a scare, so now I don't hang out anymore. I've totally avoided golf courses.

You're lucky you weren't hit. I was at a driving range overseas once. A guy about 25 metres on my right was hitting shots. He hit the ball, it it a big rock on the driving range, rebounded and hit me on the side of the head. All I remember was looking up for some reason and watching the ball come straight for me. I couldn't move, I just froze. Luckily no damage was done.

Hi, I am from Aus and I was living in a rural area for 5 years. I only had to pay $30 a year membership because I was a junior. So I took up the game.

I was looking for my ball in the rough (where I seem to spend most of my time!) when I fell into a hidden ditch full of stinging nettles and water. Ouch!!! I was on the furthest hole from the clubhouse so I just carried on playing. I looked a real mess when I got back!

Thats a new one! Alhough I always used to get those stinging nettles on my socks and sometimes in my shoe when I used to play on a dry course full of weeds.
