Yo! I'm new to mylot too, more or less. I'm not much of a poet it, but I do write some from time to time (nothing that would get me into the finals or the semi-finals). I would love to give you some ideas if I can but first I's like to know what type of poetry that you usually write or are you versitile?

Hi! Im new too! i like to right poetry but at most i am mediocre:) haha anyways i usually get my ideas from everyday things that are more profound than the rest of the day. like today i wrote a haiku about the view of the lake by my house from a church. and i wrote another about the acceleration of a car and how it pushes you against the seat. other times i will take more abstract things like light and dark. good and evil. things like that. and finally i will occasionally write poems on religion, government, and philosophy

i just write about the feelings i get , and sometimes watchin movies and the ideas from books help me to gather up some words and write it down a poem

Hi, I get my poetry ideas when I am relaxed. I just sit back and let the feelings I am feeling flow through me into the paper. The rhyming and the editing will come later. I first try and capture the emotions and then I will work on grammar later.

Hi! I'm new on mylot too. And will be happy if you share your poems with us. I'm Turkish & Ilike Nazim Hikmet; who is the most famous poet of us; too much. Did you have heard about him before?
