Do you wear clothes that are for comfort or for the looks?

I have always seen a lot of people wearing clothes that are not appropriate in terms of weather conditions. They wore it simply for the looks. Most especially here in our country were the weather is hot and humid, it is uncomfortable to wear a coat and tie. Unfortunately a lot of people are wearing this for the looks and for business purposes despite the fact that it is making them sweat so much and is very uncomfortable. As for me, I am a cassual dresser and don't like fancy clothes. I wear clothes for comfort and not mainly for the looks. What about you?

I do a little of both actually. I wear clothes mostly for comfort but I've been known to wear clothes just for how they look even if they aren't comfortable. That's not often, though. I'll wear a cute pair of high heels for a night but then after they hurt my feet I won't do it again for a long time.

I see, it think I also do the same as you. There are certain occasions here that I have to attend to and have to wear some clothes for the occasions. It actually makes me look good but a little bit uncomfortable. That is perhaps why I rarely attend to some gatherings where you have to wear some special clothes.

hi jpso! i often also see people like that. during summer, they wear long sleeves and jackets. during rainy days, they wear spaghetti-strapped shirts or "sando". its really ridiculous because it seems as if they are living in another country just to follow a fashion trend. anyway, in my case, i mix comfort and fashion. i would look for a fashionable dress, try it on and if its comfortable, i would go for it. but if its not comfortable, i will not buy it. and when it comes to weather, i always put weather first. if its summer, i would wear light clothes. i'm the one who can't stand too much heat and sun and i don't like sweating a lot. so as much as possible, i wear clothes that are "airy" and light. if its the rainy days, of course i would wear something that can fight cold. but in any case, i still try to look fashionable at the same time.

that's where the ability of a superb shopper comes in. its just a matter of giving effort on going from store to store to find the best clothes, with good quality and low price.

You are right. Well, women and ladies are good of that. It seems that it's an inborn talent. We men however rarely have that. But obviously that is a good advantage on your end. Best to you and happy shopping.

Hello there secretbear. I think what you are doing is simply the best thins to do. We can obviously mix both comfort and fashion without compromising both. Though sometimes the price would matter since some comfortable and fashionable clothes comes with a high tag price. But there are those that we can buy that are not so expensive. Its just a matter of finding the right place. Best to you!

Yes, wearing something that is somewhat old fashioned makes you look funny and old. The best choice would be is to mix fashion and comfort. But i think when we are at home, it does not matter if its out of fashion, the important thing is its comfortable. Best to you and good day likewise.

I want to look my best whenever I go somewhere, but I also want my clothes to be comfortable. I won't wear something it if it too tight or looks bad in any way. I won't let my kids either. I can't stand to see someone wearing their clothes so tight they look like they have been melted and poured into them. I also can't stand to see shorts on a lady that looks like she is practically just wearing her underwear either. Ladies should dress like ladies and gentlemen like gentlemen. I guess I will make someone upset with me but that is just my two cents worth LOL!! Have a great day!!

I do think we have the same choice. I don't usually go for fashion much but rather go for comfortable clothes more. But if I can find something that is both comfortable and fashionable, then that would be great.

I get a lot of comments about my shoes, cause I wear flipflops and open toed shoes all year round. But my feet don't really get cold, and they're claustrophobic. I can't stand wearing shoes. But yeah, I wear flip flops in very cold weather, which is probably not good for my health, but I love them.

Well, I think its really up to us what to wear. Though there are occasions that we are influenced by the comments of others. What matters most however is our personal preference. Thank you for the reply.

I have to be comfortable in what I am wearing, I cannot stand having clothes on that irritate me, or are not suited to the weather. I have bought before clothes that are fashionable and found that there is not much comfort factor in some of them. So I just buy what I like and as long as it is comfy that is enough for me. I do like to dress up when I go out though, but then again I still have to feel comfortable in what I wear.

Yes, being comfortable is the key. You don't have to wear those that are to expensive to impress. I think we are on the same level. More of comfort rather than looks. But then of course, there are those that are comfortable and are nice looking too. So I guess it all depends on the wearer. Its a matter of selecting the right comfortable clothes that is fit for each one of us.

Yes, that is a wise decision. If we could get the best of both then that would be the best choice. Though sometimes we cannot get it due to the price. But obviously if you are a good shopper you may be able to find the clothes that give you comfort and looks and with affordable prices. Take care!

Well, we do look good if we are wearing something that looks great but often times we always find comfortable clothes better to wear that those that look good yet uncomfortable. Most of the response here find comfortable clothes better to wear than those that look good. But then of course, the best would be are those that look good and are also comfortable.

I usually buy clothes that I would really wear, so t-shirts and casuals tops are likely to fill my closet. Sometimes, if the occasion calls for it, I need to wear something extra glamorous. Even if it kills me, I wear heels. Most days though I dress for comfort. I'm a little self conscious so I don't like to draw attention to myself by wearing clothes that are too fashionable.

Practically I have a lot of white t-shirts on my closet to. Since its much more comfortable to wear most especially in a country like ours. I am not a fashionable person. Most often I just wear t-shirts and ordinary pants. Though in some occasion I have to dress for such.

I dress in comfortable clothes. If I need/want something to look stylish, I'm more than willing to do the extra research and shopping to find something that's also comfortable. I, personally, don't understand being in pain or uncomfortable just to make someone else happy or attracted to you. Whenever I've had to dress up for work or an interview or something, I've always made very sure that I've got something appropriate that's comfortable. It's possible, but it might not be at your local department store.

You are right. The thing is I am not very much good at selecting clothes and doing some research on those stores. The good thing about females are thier inherent attitude to shop wisely while we males are more of buy outright attitude. But obviously choosing the right comfortable clothes would be something that we sould do.

Yes, most of my clothes are cotton since its very comfortable. There are plenty of nice looking clothes but I guess not all of them are comfortable. Some of them are comfortable yet very expensive. But the thing is well just have to be wise and shope for comfort and hopefully find clothes that are also good on the looks and affordable.

I would have to say that I wear clothes for comfort but I also have to think that my wife doesn't ALLOW me to go out in some of the outfits that I pick out so it is a combination of the two. I don't buy into the idea of not wearing polyester on an airplane or this or that.... The only time that I am conscious about how I look (and it seems weird to others) is at the gym.... I have to be color coordinated... other than that or some special function I have no problem with shorts and t-shirts just please not flip flops in a public place. Thanks Zelo

What I can't stand is when women wear skin-tight pants and a sports-bra top and then get upset when men look at them... if you are conscious about how you look... cover it up. Sheesh.

Hello Zelo, I guess you are very sports minded. Don't worry about being conscious of what to wear on the gym. I also have the same setting. I like to wear something fancy in gym. Maybe its inherent in us. Perhaps it would help us perform better. Hahaha! Thanks for the response Zelo.

Hello jp, I love to wear clothes with both aims, comfort and at the same time look. I know there are several options when we just know how to match our suit! But, for those who are wearing those type in your Country, maybe their office is air condition and they need it really for their type of work!

Right you are. The thing is you can just change in your casual wear when going out at the office. But there are people who even if already off from work still continue to wear those suit. I find it rather uncomfortable. Well, its there problem not ours. Anywaym, I am glad that we are not those kind of people. Take care!

You are right. Most of them are working in airconditioned room. However, there are situations that they have to go out in some areas or offices that are without airconditioner. It really brings out the sweat in them. Well, the thing is, its really up to them. Sometimes there are people who would sacrifice comfort for the looks.

Hi jpso, Even when I was an youngster I never worried about looks. I liked only comfortable clothes, which made me like wearing them. I could carry out any of the ordinary dresses with elan then. But now I don't have to worry about those things.. I just wear what I like.. It is usually salwars for the for the work time, either at home or at office.. Otherwise sarees that too according to the weather and climate. It is very hot and humid in our place too. So only cotton and sometimes can carry chiffon also..

Yeah i've seen a lot! I wonder how they feel about it. I'm pretty sure they feel hot more than they feel that they look good. Like you i'm a casual dresser too. I'm usually wearing my cheap Pony sneakers, Tshirt and a good pair of cheap jeans. I also bring along my mini backup so i can fit it little things like cd holders and many more.

Yeah. Some people tend to do this, they sacrifice the comfort just to look good. Well, not for me, I really cannot move well if I am not comfortable. Of course I also take into consideration on the look aspect. I do not go out wearing a pajama just to be comfortable. Just presentable and comfortable.
