I got my commission through AFROTC but had to do a 6 week summer camp at Pease AFB, in Portsmith, New Hampshire. That was the equivalent of basic. It was somewhat difficult but we did it because if we didn't we would be out of the program and , because the draft and Vietnam war existed in those days, we would have been drafted and sent to basic in the Army where you had no choice but to complete because I think they kept you there until you did finish.
Congratulations on your completing your training and thanks for your service.

I have not enlisted yet, however, as soon as I drop these 20lbs. I will be able to qualify. I am looking to probably do everything about mid-January for the Air Force. It is the best & most professional branch that I have researched. My sister-in-laws are in the Navy & I have several other family members in the Army & Marines, but I really am looking forward to joining the Air Force. Wish me luck!

I wish I had gone Air Force last year, but I went Army instead, I was sent to Ft Leonardwood, Mo in August of 2005 and discharged in November the day I should have graduated from basic for health resons. I applaud you for your bravery and ability to complete bct.

I went to basic May 1995. The first time I was ever in a plane was flying to basic training. We hit a thunderstorm in route and the flight was quite shaky. Haven't liked flying since but had to do it frequently.
