Do you post pictures of your kids and family on MyLot?

I've been thinking about uploading pics of my little kid and sharing online at Mylot. But, I'm not sure if I should. Perhaps I will simply upload the pics onto the Internet at a photo sharing site. Then simply share the private links with my real MyLot friends and not the MyLot community and send the links to each friend via private message. That would not be so public. I've uploaded my child's picture online elsewhere and it hasn't bothered me. So, I don't think it would bother me to share her picture here. What do you think about uploading a child's picture onto the Internet? Are there safety issues involved? What should a person do in a situation like this? Do you post your own personal photographs on MyLot?

To be honest I do put pics of my family and my kids on here. I guess I do not think of the bad side to this, in my world everyone is nice and good. I love to share my pics with my friends and so I always see the good in everyone.

I have thought about this a lot, beauty. I do worry about online child preditors, but I know there is no way they can gain access to my son through myLot. Just the thought of some sick, weirdo person getting a thrill just looking at kids photos skeeves me a bit. It is a tough one for me because I am so proud of my little guy and would love to show him off to all my friends. Right now I just share pictures through PM because I don't really have any closure about this yet. If you decide to share a link to photos with your friends, I hope you will include me. I feel like I know your little sweetie by following your discussions all these months. I think she is a little older than my little buddy.

I dont see any issues with posting my kids pictures online. What harm can come of it. Now I dont post bathtime photos or anything because well no one needs to see that but family lol.

No of course not! I do understand. I would just be posting cute pics of her riding a bike or something like that. I was just wondering what everyone else does for these situations. Thanks!

I don't really post pictures of myself as I really don't like having my picture taken at all! As for my kids I do post their photos and I feel it is very safe to do so - I wouldn't have posted it if I hadn't believed that! xxx

I'm happy to hear that! I want to share photos. But, I keep hearing all kinds of stories online. And, I'm really confused. Thanks for sharing your viewpoint. Be well. Have a bright and beautiful day!

I don't post picture of my family and even I don't post pictures of me on this web site because I don't feel comfy about posting pictures that can be seen for many people, I do to post pictures on other web sites like facebook but there I have add my friends and people that know me in person, anyway i don't see anything bad about posting pictures of your kid, I don't think it would be used for a child molester because he would not contact you or figure out where you live, and anyway kids change fast so your kid would looks different in some time, and you should remember that some web sites make you give up your rights for pictures that you upload, so that picture would be use for mylot, I am not sure if when you upload picture here you agree to give up your right over the pictures but like I say more web sites do that, I don't think in other issues about uploading your personal pictures or family pictures. I remember that an online friend of mine does showed me the picture of her nephews because her bother made promised that she was not going to show it to people that she meet online for security reasons, because he was in the united states army, she only showed me picture of his nephews when he got out of the army, so I think some people take really serious the security about pictures of their family.

I do not post any pictures of myself or my family on the internet. I believe that this is where predators look for victims. I would always error on the side of caution.

I think I wont upload the photos of my family member here in my lot. Although my daughter always put her picture in her friendster account. What for. Me, I prefer no pictures at all.

I have posted pics of myself and my loved ones on another site that I had been a member of for a number of years. I lived to regret it. While it is comforting to think that no one could "find" my kids or myself using photo id, the fact is that unless you are incredibly restrained in the life details you inadvertently share you are adding one more, very personal, identifier for anyone who should choose to gather your information and to muck about in your real life. And predators ARE out there and they ARE looking for just such information...not necessarily to reach into your real life but, certainly, to use the threat of such a thing should they ever decide to target you. What I learned, was that it is just too much information to share with the world at large. Nothing is quite as scary as seeing questions and answers that reveal your "personal" details like your child's name in a poorly disguised manner and realizing that you have supplied a photo should some nutter choose to follow the breadcrumbs to your child's school.

I have uploaded some pictures of me and my mom and my friends. So far no bad thing is going on. i don't think of bad things to happen. It's like when you think of a bad thing it attracts something bad to happen to it also. So, its oky for me to upload family and friends photos. Take care =)
