Ok, so it doesn't take much to get me excited, but this did. I went fishing tonight with James (Jer31558) and caught a five feet six inch Sand Tiger Shark. It was very exciting for me! James is a professional at it so I know he was very excited for me! What do you think. Would you be excited by this?

He was so happy about that one, he didn't even mention the smaller one we are having for supper. Well, I guess with one like that, I may not mention a Spiny Dogfish either.

Hey, it was an Atlantic Sharpnose, not a spiny dogfish...LOL. Thanks for the response.

That is a great catch! Pat yourself on the back. I would definitely be excited. I took my 12 year old fishing for the first time last year and we got excited over a sunfish...lol. The biggest fish I ever caught was a 22 inch rainbow trout. Now where's the picture? LOL.

For some reason I have no idea what I did putting the picture on here...obviously something wrong. I will put it on my profile, check it out. 22 inch Rainbow Trout is an awesome fish too. Thanks for the response.

I wouldn't call myself a professional. You failed to mention that you caught two sharks last night. You did great though...but now I will have to listen to that same fishing story at work for months...

For months, or until I catch a bigger one. Thanks for your response, and your support!

If I caught a shark, I would feel really bad. Shark meat is not that good--it is tasteless and only adds texture--and there is no point in catching them, unless they can be safely released back into the waters with no harm done to them. I love sharks, and I have discovered that they make a lot more of a difference than we give them credit for. Might I ask what you did with the Tiger Shark after capturing him/her?

I am glad to know that you did. :D I was not trying to sound rude, I was only a bit concerned, so I am sorry if I came off that way. I guess I am a bit protective over sharks.

No worries, I didn't take it as rude. I understand that many different people have many different opinions in life. That is what makes it so interesting. Thanks for your honesty above all.

Wow, that's a big fish. I'd definitely be excited to catch something that big especially since it's slightly bigger than me. I've never really been fishing. I might be good at it since everyone says it takes a lot of patience, which I have.

Yeah, I never have been a big fan of fishing because I don't have the patience either...until now. I want to catch something bigger than me too, and this one was close. I am going to put a picture of it on my profile.

I think you should leave the sharks in the water where they belong. That's why it's called "FISH"ing...you catch "fish"Check this out: http://www.sharkwater.com http://www.seashepherd.org/longline/

I appreciate your response. The last time I checked a shark is a fish, maybe I am wrong about that, but I am pretty sure it is a fish.

Thanks for clearing it up. I took no offense and hope that I did not offend you in any way either.

Your welcome, and of course sharks are a type of fish, but they are predators and they are far more endangered than fish are. I am glad to hear that you released it, but I have a partiality to sharks and I have a duty to protect them in any way I can =) I am well aware that people fish for shark all the time, and I'm not saying that it's neccessarily wrong, just irresponsible in most cases. No offense. Happy posting!
