Is colon cleansing really necessary?

I have read that it is very necessary because 'crud' tends to collect in the folds of your' intestines and can remain there for years, polluting your' body.
But I have also read that all of those claims are untrue and that the colon cleans its'self.
So which is right? Should we or should we not cleanse the colon?

I think we probably do need to do more but only because we eat so much processed crap these days. If we ate raw food as we were designed to or at least pure food, then our bodies would work properly.
About 8 years ago I started to have some terrible back pain. I also had a hernia near my groin. I had the hernia repaired but the back pain remained. It would come and go and would sometimes I would get a kick like from a mule. My doctor just prescribed an anti-inflammatory. Just a few months ago, the pain in my back became really severe. I went to my doctor...a different one and he sent me for x-rays and it turns out I was constipated. Since taking all sorts of cocktails to clear my bowel, I am now pretty much pain free...it was a blockage...for all these years. I was always regular and had no problems in that area or so I thought. It just goes to show you. I now drink a dose of pro biotic every other day. That puts a living flora in my system that is keeping my guts clear and happy. I go to the toilet a bit more often but I'm more comfortable for it.

Wow! I had never thought about having a blockage sitting there for years! That's scary!
Maybe there is something to colon cleansing.

I'm going to try it. Hopefully everything will work out in the end! LOL!

It must happen easily. If you think about it, the intestine is lined with tiny wee little fingers that are like short thick hairs that wave about causing the bits to move along. If a little piece sticks here and there pretty soon the little fingers will be gunged up and break off or else there will be a lumpy part. In any case there will soon be a lumpy part. The intestine is really long, I forget how long but you can imagine how easy it would be for something to get stuck in all the creases and corners. I reckon colon cleansing is a good idea but I reckon this pro-biotic stuff is the way to go.

I have not done it yet but I intend to. I believe that it does help to clear out the colon ... and makes you feel so much better too. Some people have even lost some weight by cleansing their colons so just think of all the crud that can build up in there.

I have heard the weight loss claims but I have also heard from people who have done it that the weight comes back after a few days.
I'm still unsure that it's necesarry so I think I'll wait.
If you decide to try it, will you let us know how it goes?

Well there is some truth to the saying that sometimes some digested food doesn't get out and that causes some problems. In fact some says that colon cancer is caused by these wastes stuck in the crevices of your intestines. But I think you just need to have a normal bowel movement to cleanse it. if you have normal movement everyday I think that is enough. For those that are always constipated they are the ones that should worry about having their colon cleared beacuse it might just be that their colon is indeed clogged already and needs to be cleansed.

From what I have heard I personally don't think it is necessary. I have read that some of those colon cleansing products can actually cause more harm than good.

I wish it wasn't so confusing! There are so many conflicting reports that I guess it's safer to not do it than to hurt yourself in the hopes that it works.
