If you woke up in the morning feeling down in the dumps, you're not alone. It could be you're experiencing something which the experts call "summertime blues".
But for some, those blues go beyond asimple bad mood, sinking them deeper into real depression.
What do you say?

I have severe depression. I get summertime, wintertime, prewinter, presummer, and anyoldtime, depression. I wonder what I would be like without medication. ????

I agree with SusanLee. Being stuck in the house because it is sooo hot makes me a little down but I love it that my kids are home. It takes me a week or so to adjust because it is a change. The same thing happens when they go back to school...the house being quiet and all. I tend to get more down around the fall and winter holidays, but I think it is because of the time change making it get darker earlier and the stress of the holidays. I prepare myself every year because I know it will happen and it makes it easier for me to cope.

I don't know about going into a depression in the summer. I do get down and out sometimes, but it's because we have such unbearable heat here. The humidity shoots up and your pretty much housebound.
It's hard to go outside and enjoy any activity because your swealtering, you end up sticky and that makes me irritable.
