I've been watching a lot lately and I've been noticing these celebrities who wears and owns Designer gowns, bags, shoes, etc. which costs around $500 up. Am I right? Well, I don't see anything wrong with that and I don't hold it against them who owns at least one.
Every time I go to the mall I see people with Designer bags and Branded things as well.
Well, personally I WANT one. That's basically the point of this discussion that I've started.
Who here owns or wants any thing from a Designer or a Brand?
The only Brands that I have are Lacoste, Bally, Nine West, etc. Nothing really too costly. So I've been thinking about getting myself at least one Designer when I get the job that I applied for abroad. It'll be like my congratulatory gift for myself since I'm only turning 21 in a couple of weeks.
How about you?

There's nothing wrong in going for designer goods, and in fact it's good in a way because it motivate su to work harder.. For me, i dun go for designer brand, and eben though i can afford it, i still wun go for it.. They just duin interest me that much.. ALso, their designs are not really fantastic or they are comfortable, so i will opt for those lower class brands instead.. LOL

I know, it's kind of one of my motivations right now after my family. Some say it's an investment to own one. A good example is Rolex. Rolex prices appreciates every year so if you buy it today for example P100,000.00 (pesos), after 5 years you can sell it for P150,000.00 or higher. That's what my sister told me cos she bought one.

I guess I'm one of those crazy girls. I have never been a clothes horse and I don't pay attention to labels. I buy clothes, shoes, and accessories on three points only: 1)Cost, 2)Functionality, and 3) Looks on me. I feel as long as it looks good on me, and I have the money, I will buy it. Forget all the designers. I was sick of shoes in high school; I have large feet and big shoes cost more. As far as bags, I refuse to spend $300 on a purse and not have a dime to put in it.

Sometimes I end up buying both. Good quality but is pricey at the same time. It's good. I don't always shop anyway. I only do when I have money to spend. I never buy designers though. Cos even when I have money, it still is not enough to afford one. The most I can do are branded stuffs. I always go to the malls that's why I guess the prices are high but most of the time I wait for the sale to come.

Ummm... I don't think I a cheap scape" but I don't really see the point of having brand names... I guess I've been working in electronics & Appliances business too long... I don't know about clothing but I know a lot of electronics are "cross" made... Who ever heard of a VCR called "Quasar"? Quasar is made by same company that makes panasonic... Even the remotes will work each other without programing it like universal remotes... But I saw so many people paying extra $20 - $40 for Panasonic branded VCR... G.E.'s electronic division, their t.v.'s & a lot of their stereo's & things of that nature is made by company called "thompson electronics" Apparently, same exact people who makes RCA branded TV's & stereo's & things of that nature... I once took out a remote from G.E. branded t.v. & worked my RCA branded VCR, mine broke... Speaking of Appliances, I run in to people who swears by G.E. appliances then turns around & rates Samsung appliances as a 2nd rate, 3rd world country cheap company appliances... One of the G.E.'s top selling "Profile", mid-high grade G.E. appliances, bottom mount fridge is literally MADE by Samsung... L.G. owns Zenith now... Whirlpool company owns Maytag company... People swears they love whirlpool but not maytag... They are made in SAME EXACT LOCATION, in Germany... Point here is, I always buy whatever I feel comfortable in, as far as clothes goes... I paid $17 dollars & change for my boots 2 years ago & they're still good... I saw someone buying a very similar boots for $75 bucks & lasted him 1 1/2 years... I just don't see the point of spending a lot for things just for a logo or brand name...

I decided to buy pre-owned clothing to see which brands I like, and my favorites so far are BCBG tops and BEBE jeans. I bought a pair of Versace jeans once, and while the fabric was high quality, I didn't care for the fit. I also have a pair of Juicy Couture jeans that are really comfortable.
For cheaper but good-quality clothing, I would recommend Victoria's Secret clothing line. I have several pairs of jeans, corduroys, and dress pants, and they fit great!
I am currently selling Victoria's Secret, International Concepts, and other brands of clothing on Ebay right now, to pay the bills until I start grad school this Fall.
You can find great deals on Ebay on designer clothing, but you really have to do your research so you don't end up with a fake. There are some great guides on Ebay that explain how to spot a fake on the site.
I think designer clothing is worth the price, because the quality is un-matched and they will lost a lot longer. However, I personally would not spend a huge amount of money on it like the celebrities do, because I would rather spend that money on travel, education, friends & family, and charity.
Good luck on the job you applied for!

Thanks golddust!
Anyway, I also have a BCBG top, well it's more of a formal/corporate wear. I had a pair of Calvin Klein jeans before but it don't fit me now. Too bad. I'd love to try and see Victoria's Secret shop but unfortunately we don't have it here in the Philippines and I wasn't able to go around much when I was in other countries. LOL.
Good luck also in your grad school!
