With each baby, we started by taking away the bottle and giving a sippy cup instead for everything except nap time and bed time. It took a few days for them to get used to using the cup, but with consistent praise and comments of you are such a big girl/boy now, it worked.
Once the daytime issues were gone, we moved to taking away the bottle for nap time, and using a sippy cup filled about halfway with a mixture of juice and water. More water than juice, as the sugars are tough on your babies teeth! Each day, we decreased the amount of juice until it was only water in the cup and nap time was peaceful.
The nighttime bottle was the hardest to break for us. My husband and I chose a long weekend when he would be home to help with any nighttime fits over the lack of a bottle. We also used the sippy cup for this, but with milk and water mixed together, slowly decreasing the amount of milk and adding more water. We also removed the cup after baby was asleep.
It is a time consuming process, but after a few weeks, the bottles disappear forever.
You are blessed with twins! Good luck :)
