Have you or anyone you know filed bankruptcy?

Just curious to see how many people have filed for bankruptcy. How are you doing now after the fact? My fiancee's mother filed almost 2 years ago and already has a couple of credit cards and got financing for a newer car. I thought it took longer than that to come off your credit history?

well I'm about to file again. I filed the first one 12 years ago after my first marriage. Now we just have had so much go wrong lately that we are in dept again.

We filed back in 2001 and we have never had better credit in our lives. Although I can promise you we learned alot from our past credit mistakes. I hope to never be in that situation again.

My fiance had to before we met because he owned a business and then had a car accident and was stuck in hospital for 6 months.

i havent, but my mother has and shes gotten credit cards, cell phones, personal loans and leased a car, all within a few years of filing.

Thanks for your response. I guess companies are willing to take the risk regardless of a person's history.
