I love the english language and some of the more curious words that come up like 'nincompoop' which means idiot or one of the more wierd one's 'hoojamaflip' which I heard someone use when the couldn't think of the word they needed! So mylotters what are your favourite nonsense or weird words? best response will be given on Tue 1.00pm UK time.

The english language is a a beautiful language. Some of the weird english words are self created and not found in the dictionary. Coming from a non english speaking background I find it amusing when an incomprehensible english word foreign to me is being used by someone be it in writing or spoken. I just have to learn a word a day but not the wrong words. Anyway language can be beautified to suit in any situation.

I was going to say thingamajig but someone already did. "Dagnabit" runs a close second as my favorite nonsense word. Sort of a mild substitute for a curse word. Numflutter means a condition where one is temporarily scatterbrained. Twitterpated comes from an old Bambi recording. It's what the owl called young lovers in the spring.

I guess one that I've always found interesting in thingamabob. You also have dohickey and thingamajig. I haven't heard or used any of those for ages, a more modern one might be whatjamajigger.
