well,thats a difficult situation definitely. I saw a Television drama that had the same situation.The two boys were brothers and were very close and loved the same girl.When the friend found that the girl loves his friend he asked him to take good care of her.The friend's friend felt very sorry for him.Although the friend felt wounded deep inside his heart he didn't show it and always laughed around with others. And coming to you,I think it would be lot better if you find a suitable girl at least with some similar characteristics of the formal for your friend.At least,it would decrease his sufferings. I was in your place - sort of. Me and my friend liked the same girl back in high school but he was more shy back than, so i tried first but failed, the girl did not liked me. Since i was and am his true friend i told him what i tried, and that it's now his turn to try and i also told him if he needs anything he can count on me, so that he could work it out.
