I don't normally buy movie soundtracks, but sitting here half listening while my daughter watches Shrek for like the 20th time this weeks I am thinking that the soundtrack would be a good one to own. Do you ever like the music in a movie enough to buy the soundtrack? Which ones are your favorites?

I only have one movie soundtrack that I bought. A Walk To Remember. I loved the soundtrack. I love ALL the songs in it. That's my only soundtrack CD that I have. The rest I just download cos most songs from movies aren't really that appealing to me.

Yes, I do sometimes if there are maybe 3 or 4 songs on there that I like. It just depends. I mean, I have Grease, Evita, Johnson Family Vactation, The Wedding Singer, so it just depends. I have a broad spectrum of musical tastes so that is why that list sounds so different. Sometimes what sucks is that I will like a song that is in a movie but then they don't have a soundtrack and I can't find the song anywhere. That has happened a couple times for me. But yeah, I do buy some movie soundtracks depending on what songs are on there.

i had the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack about two or three years before I saw the film. I knew all the songs off the Grease soundtrack before I got to see the film. And I saw Two Of A Kind and right after, and I mean right after I bought both the LP and the cassette tape. The last soundtrack I just had to buy was the Chicago soundtrack.

I have LOADS of film and TV sountracks, including Shrek and Shrek 2. The soundtrack to Shrek 2 has 'Accidentally in Love' by Counting Crows on it and I listen to that particular song all the time. The film soundtracks that I listen to the most are '10 Things I Hate About You', 'About A Boy', 'The Lion King' and 'Labyrinth'. For Disney most of time I just listen to my 'Disney Classics: 60 Years of Musical Magic' box set. I am but a child disguised as a grown up :P

Well normally i don't movie soundtracks. But one of the movie that change my mind about buying the only movie soundtracks is the Jurasic Park movie. This movie soundtrscks is very god to listening in my ear. Once i hear it in the first Jurasic Park movie...that song canot separate frm my ear anymore. Untill more that 10 years the Jurasic Park name never hear again in any country cinema, i still hear it nowdays.

On occasion I love to get a chance to buy soundtracks for movies. I own the soundtrek to the first Shrek movie, and it is one of my favorites. The other soundtraks I love are the ones from Hope Floats, and Bed of Roses.

uh yes, i think the soundtracks from movies such as the resident evil series and the underworld 1 and 2 would be nice movie soundtracks. eventhough the songs in the resident evil movies arent played within the movie,i just like the rock song genre in general. i didnt really but it, i downloaded a copy of the resident evil extinction movie soundtrack, and its a pretty ok soundtrack. i am now looking for the 1st 2 RE movie soundtracks and the 1st 2 underworld movie soundtracks. its pretty time consuming looking for the songs from the album one by one, since they arent popular they have few sources.

I like buying movie scores more than the typical soundtracks. I am a film composer freak. I need to listen to instrumentals at least once a day. Sometimes I need a break from actual singing. Most days I need more violins and an orchestra, lol. I'm really into Morricone, Williams, Zimmer, Horner, Elfman, Glass, etc.

I do not buy movie soundtracks that often unless the music from the movie really strikes me as a great collection. If I enjoy a musical then I might get the sound track to that movie but it is rare. I think the last movie sound track that I bought was from Hairspray last year.

I will buy a movie sound track if I really liked the movie or the music. Of if the full song wasn't displayed in the movie. I like the soundtracks from Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, all the Jane Austen films, some of the Shakespearean films, and a few modern films like Mean Girls. Sometimes I'll buy the soundtrack if I like the composer (I like Thomas Newman, Alan Silvestri, and Alan Menken).

My husband has bought a few for me. I haven't purchased any myself. Once in a while I will say I liked the music in that movie. Then bingo I have a cd. I have Coyote Ugly and Perfect Storm soundtracks to name a few.

If I like the music enough I'll buy the soundtrack. Years ago I would buy soundtracks just for one song if I couldn't find it anywhere else. But now with iTunes and things like that, it's much easier to get just that one song. I've got the soundtrack to both Grease movies, The Wedding Singer, The Wizard of Oz, Music and Lyrics, A Night At The Roxbury, and I'm sure others that I can't recall right now.

I've bought a few soundtracks in the past: The Mission - Ennio Morricone Saving Private Ryan Gettysburg King Arthur Batman Forever (this was £1 from a bargain bin) I only generally buy them if its a full cd of instrumental/strong but soothing tunes. The likes of John Williams, Randy Edelman and Hans Zimmer, rather than just a collection of bands.

I have had some movie soundtracks. I had Jesus Christ Superstar, Dances With Wolves, and West Side Story. They have got to be 3 of the best in movie soundtracks. I have listened to each of them over and over and over. After listening to a favorite song or favorite part of a song, I'll rewind it and listen to it again. I need to add to my collection of movie soundtracks. To me, it is like listening to classical music.

If i liked the movie i generally try and buy the soundtrack as well. but i don't buy every soundtrack that comes out...but i will go out of my way to get one if i think that the album is worth having in my collection. i currently have over two hundred movies but only about 10 soundtracks to them.
