I am thinking of homeschooling my children starting next school year. My husband had the idea of trying some lessons over the summer to see how it went and how everyone would react and adjust, which I thought was a really good idea. Now, I am asking if anyone has any scheduling ideas for me. My kids are 7, twins that are 8 and a 10 year old. Any ideas on how to schedule my day out. Should I start in the morning, same time everyday? Give any breaks? How long should it be? As you can see I am kind of clueless but very interested in what others do. I like to be very organized so all your input would be great!!! Thanks

I school in the evening. Cause they have mellowed out and are ready to learn. Its really up to you and what you have pland for the year or day. If you need a free curriculum check out an old fashion education. You can print everything you need, they alos have a planner laid out for you and ready to use.

That's great that you're going to give homeschooling a try. I think you should start in the morning, at the same time each day so your kids have a structured day. I would also recommend that lessons be kept short at your kids' ages so they don't lose interest in what they're working on and they should be able to have a breaks but I think you're in the best position to tell when they're in need of one. I know that there are organizations that help parents who want to homeschool with things like lesson plans and also offer support so you might want to check out what's available where you are. The School Board or Board of Education may be able to point you in the right direction or do a search on the web.
