wedding cakes!!!!!!

now i was at a wedding recenlty with my family. and i saw the cake and i was amazed. every time i see one i still get shivers on how many hours cooks must put into to make exquisite designs like on it. even thought there are many strenuous hours and lorts of creativity put into a wedding cake, i still dont get why they cost as much as they do.

have you seen debbiedoescakes in flickr. omg! she made art cakes (dogs, bags, characters) that look real! it made me wanna try and make some..but couldnt hahahaha
and yes..they are very expensive to make. aside from looking good..they should be yummy too! if youre just starting, you hafta have a good oven, spatulas, cookie cutters, different types of icing tips, baking pans, sheets, food dyes, weighing scale, etc) making icing is expensive too. molding them takes a lot of time, patience and talent..maybe its just easy for them..but hey.. some of these cakes take longer than a day to make..takes a lot of creativity too.
