compaq vs hp

actually i know that hp & compaq have now merged but still a question arises in my mind that which of the two laptops to buy .......after all which one is better... i am asking this question becuse when u compare the price of the two u will find a large difference.the same configuration which is available in hp, which cost u Rs.45,000 will be available in compaq with a price Rs.37,000. The question is WHAT IS THE REASON OF THIS DIFFERENCE????IS IT DUE TO THE QUALITY DIFFERENCE OR SOME OTHER REASON IS THERE BEHIND IT...... plz friends do let me know......coz i want to buy a compaq laptop.......without any risk....

Compaq and HP are produced by the same company with different target market. HP has a better quality than Compaq. HP target is more into entertainment and high end user. Compaq is more into business and middle end user. Since the target market and the quality are different, the price is also difference. Don't forget because the price is different, even though it has the same specification, the warranty and the after sales service is also different. HP after sales service is much better than Compaq. And also, HP has more pre-installed softwares compare to Compaq and higher windows version.
