Price-fixing at the pumps

Are you paying too much at the pump well in Canada criminal charges were laid against 13 people and 11 companies where gas price fixing was going on...We pay anywhere from 1.35/liter to $1.47/liter as were in the US they pay about $3.90 gallon...Were is it right that we pay more than the USA as our dollar is as strong as theres....It works out to be less than a $1 a liter in the USA at par....Is it fair what is your opinion and is there a way we can fix the gas price fixing without hurting the consumer more??/
