This list was quite shocking to me. I expected to see places like California, New York, Detroit, Chicago, and such. Instead I saw states that I never would have suspected would shorten your lifespan and for the most interesting reasons. Check them out and tell me what you think. Did your state make the list? http://www.qualityhealth.com/psp/10-shortest-life-span-states/featurearticles/featuredArticle.jspa?rf=28497&mc=MTQ0MjA4NzA.

Are you kidding me! I am as shocked as you. Who would have thought, but then again looking at the diseases most of the southern states have in common...do you think diet plays an important factor? And the pollution levels...I had no idea. I thought for sure California would be in the rankings for shortest lifespan.

I believe that diet, exercise, and pollution play big roles. Especially, if someone smokes and drinks heavily. I too would have pegged California as being tops as far as lifespan. But apparently, someone else does not agree. I live in California, so I do not know if that is good or bad.

That is crazy. My state didn't make it on the list, but probably that's because the majority of our population is over the age 60, lol.

I agree with it being a little crazy. The fact that California was not named, does not make me feel any safer living out here with all the pollution.

That is interesting. Did not see any of the states I have lived in or am at now. Doesn't surprise me about DC though. Could you blame them for all the stress and the drinking, lol.

I think one's lifespan largely depends on their individual condition .I know someone may say that many objective conditions maylittle have a active effect on our lifespan ,such as air pollution condition,or climate etc . But I firmly believe that one 's individual condition plays a more important role in achieve a satisfying lifespan . you think so?

I agree with you. But I also believe that the environment that we live in can contribute to our overall health in positive and negative ways. Including emotional health.
