When I get Chinese food I normally get lo mein to go with my dish. Most places around here give you the option of lo mein, fried rice, or white rice. I will sometimes get the fried rice, but not often and never the white rice. Which one do you chose when getting a meal from a Chinese place?

I love chinese food and now it makes me want to order it lol. I useally get fried rice w/ my meal and occasionally will get lo mein as a side dish and eat it that way. I just found out that there is a new chinese resturant in town that you can eat in, take out, or delivery. I will order some Wednesday night on my night off from work and have it delivered.

I generally get fried rice. Lo mein seems just like noodles to me -- and if I want noodles I think Italian, not Chinese. White rice seems boring, so typically it's fried rice. (Which is bad for me.)

For me it is usually the fried rice. However, one of the Chinese places down the street from me has a lo mein and fried rice combo that I really like so I usually get that. But when I am forced to choose between the those selections as side dishes, I usually go with the fried rice. I especially like vegetable fried rice and will sometimes order that with wonton soup of I don't get one of the full meals.

I usually go with Lo Mein. Not to often I will go with rice. Only time I go with rice is when the lo mein is dry and you can clearly see it. But perferably I love the lo mein. Speaking of chinese I have a hankering for some Chinese now.

The places I go to usually give plain rice no matter what else you get,I normally always go with chicken or veggie fried rice. I get lots of soy sauce, and usually hot mustard for the egg rolls! Making me want some. I live in Mexico and there are alot of Chinesse places down here, but they make it more mexican style if that makes any scense! Thanks tdemex

I almost always get lo mein as well, I find that to be my favorite. If they are out of that I will usually go with fried rice second, but sometimes if the white rice is clumpy I like to get some of that, because it is better with chop sticks.

I am a great fan of the mixed rice. Maybe coz rice being my staple food, I am more inclined towards it. I looked up lo mein and found that its somewhat similar to chow mein which we have in India. Now chow mein to me is mostly had for snack or maybe office lunch, (rice becomes too heavy during work hours). But for lunch or dinner, nothing beats mixed fried rice with accompanying gravy dishes of chicken or prawn or pork. Plain rice is of course out of the question as we have it everyday at home. Nothing ‘eating out’ feel about it.

I am with you. I like lo mein much better than rice of any kind. Talking about Chinese food is making me want to take a trip up to that Chinese restaurant in the other end of town that I haven't been to in years, because I don't live near there anymore.
