Ups and downs in the economy are completely normal. The United States has experienced economies worse than this before and it's always recovered. People might have to change their habits and make some changes in their daily lives, but it will be a good thing in the long run. A lot of the time when the economy turns downward, it weeds out a lot of problems and it will come back stronger than ever.

Well, we'll just have to adapt. We've had high energy costs before and even shortages. But, we adapted by making more efficient technology that uses less. Then, oil got cheap and they started making those big cars again. Now, they're going to have to find a way to make vehicles that use less gas. People will just have to get their butts in gear and do something and something will be done.

The U.S. isn't the only country feeling the pinch economically because of OPEC. This is a global problem, not just an American one, but I don't think the U.S. will go through anything close to a depression. There are alternatives to oil which we are now forced to use and people are going to have to learn to conserve. Economies go up and they go down, we had a recession in the 1970's and we survived that so I'm confident we'll survive this.

We don't want to see the depression of U.S.A economy. If that will come the truth,it could be the disaster of the world, especially these countries who have close economical ties with it,such as China.States should jointly deal with the possible arrival of the world's economical depression.
