Bum and tummy bulges.

Since given birth at 39, 20 months ago my excess rolls of fat remain. I did lose a bit of weight a while back but since I turned 40 my metabolic rate seemed to have drastically declined or is it my imagination or I am eating more. I love to get back my pre-pregnancy figure so if anyone out there have experienced the onset of turning fat at 40 please share your experience. Knowing that it is not just me will at least offer a little comfort!!

I am turning 40 at the end of the summer and am also freaking out about my excess weight. I am willing to try just about anything to get rid of it, even exercise! This is a post I started for one of my new ideas for effortless weightloss. I am waiting for my first cup to cool. I wonder if diluting it further would decrease the effectiveness? It looks a bit strong. I guess I will see. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1560129.aspx The best of luck to both of us in our endeavors to fight the middle age spread!

the big 40 for me is not only in november but also seems to corrolate with the 40 added to my waist hips and thighs!!! i recently have been very curious about easier ways to get rid of it all and then some. i am ashamed to admit that i haven't had any children to use even as an excuse. i know that my eating is tied to my emotions, and i am working through them, but still my self-esteem and personal attitude would receive a huge boost if i could drop this weight. i used to jog, but this weight just makes my feet and joints hurt so much that even after one day of mild to moderate exercise seems fairly overwhelming to the point that i am exhausted the next day. i am curious about avakar...i've heard it really works...also the oolong tea...heard it really works ,this one i've heard you can use any brand so i purchased some from my local health food store. i've yet to try it. i'm still researching on how i'm supposed to go about using it...anyone know? if i could just lose 15 lbs to begin with, i think i could tolerate walking/jogging again and then i could make it better from there...any helpful suggestions...i want to keep it all off this time...we all deserve to be healthy and fit and light...to healthier happy people...

Holly, If I find a magic elixir I will surely shout it from the rooftops and let you know. I want to be fabulous and 40 not frumpy and 40. I am finding it very hard to make better food choices. My husband doesn't help either. He buys me "treats" and then I feel guilty not eating them.

Yes we change as we age. The only way I found to take off the fat rolls was a low carb way of life, not a diet but a total change in how you eat. I specifically use Protein Power, it is midway between Atkins and South beach. As we get older our bodies can no longer burn carbs as easy, and they turn to fat.
