i was considering going somewhere(don't really know where yet)and i think it would be really fun to ride the bus...and as high as gas prices are getting its going to take a lot more to drive there than just ride the bus...and i called greyhound and i saw how much their tickets and their really not that much...so i was just wondering if anyone had ever ridden the grey hound bus...is it dangerous on the bus...does your stuff disappear...because i heard one person say that there was fights on the bus and stuff stolen...so does anyone know...and transfering buses...how does that work...thanks!

First, usually you don't have to transfer to another bus since most of the buses go where you want to go. They are usually direct travel to where you are going but they do stop at all of the small towns and big cities to pick up more passengers and to pick up packages that are being sent. I have been on a grey hound bus a few times and it is boring as hell. Make sure if you go anywhere, you take a book and/or crossword puzzles or knitting or something you can do on the bus. I have never seen or heard of anyone fighting on a grey hound bus. If there was, I am sure the bus driver would kick them off. The laws are just as strict riding a bus as any other forms of transportation like flying. I have never heard of anyone getting their stuff stolen, either. If you go with a couple friends it could be a lot of fun.

There is nothing wrong with a nice bus ride. For the few times that I have rode the but it was cool. Just don't take supper big bags that have to go under the bus. Your stuff don't get missing or stolen as long and you keep it with you and what goes under the bus gets a ticket on the luggage; and if you have to change buses you have to take all your belongings with you. When you have to transfer the bus driver will let you know when you have to transfer and also ask the driver to remind you they will. At least you don't have to waste gas driving if it's just yourself.

I might not be the best person to ask this. The last time I was taking a bus trip from Lancaster, Pennsylvania to New York City. Not too of a long ride. With my luck the bus broke down. And we had to wait for another one to come. It ended up taking a long time to finally get to New York. After that I refuse taking the bus, I now either drive myself or take the train.
