It is that time of the year when it rains almost everyday here. This is my question If you are driving and all of a sudden a heavy downpour began would you put on your flashers and keep driving or pull over? If my kids are with me i will pull over. If i am by myself as long as i can see the road i may keep driving. So do you pull over or don't you?

If i can't see the road then i can't see a car in front of me if they don't have on lights (sometimes it is so bad you can't see them if their lights are on), and if some nut is flying he will surely rear-end me before he sees me, so i don't think it is being a baby i think it is just a healthy respect for a dangerous situation.

I always keep driving, but I will definitly slow down. It depends on how hard the rain as to how much I slow down. I find the blinkers really annoying unless it is really difficult to see the road. In a really heavy downpour I will turn them on just to help others see the road. Sometimes it is easier to see the road when The person in front of you uses blinkers.

Cj I almost always pull over. Especially if it is dusk or night time. I just do not see well in the rain and night time any more. I look for a place to pull over without hazards.

Yep, it wouldn't do any good to get off the road for safety if you slide into a ditch and wrecked anyway!LOL

I keep driving without my flashers on. I find those flashers distracting, especially on the interstate. I do drive much slower though, sometimes as slow as 30 or 35. When I see flashers, I don't know if someone is driving slow or if someone has had a wreck.

If it is raining enough for you to go that slow you should get off the road.

it is better to pull over if you have a long drive, but if its a short drive to your destination, better get to your place as soon as possible, it is better to enjoy rain fro myour than while driving

There have been a few times that it has rained hard enough that you can't see and have put the flashers on and even pulled over under an overpass until the rain let up some.

Depends on how heavy the downpour & if I can still see ok or not. I always have my kids with me so I pull over if I can't see & I slow down even if I can see...rain & wet roads are so dangerous when you are driving you can't be too careful!

A great big hug for you! - Hugging and loving someone
I can only recall pulling over once or twice in my life, and that's because me nerves were probably bad at that moment. Also, as you know here in the south, if you drive a few more yards the sun will be shining. I've added a hug under this for the information on the drying and dying of corn shucks. Thanks for the info.

If there is other cars on the road and i have the kids I'm probably pulling over. I'm glad it had what you were looking for. It was the first site i pulled up last night.

I would simply turn on the windshield wipers and my headlights and keep going :) So long as I can still see the roadway, of course!

The drivers here doesn't have the sense to slow down and half the time will not even have on headlights. It's not the rain so much as the other drivers on the road that worries me.
