....that i managed to recue before they got eaten!! Baby mollies by the way.I rescued 8 and nearly 2 weeks later i am down to only 2.They look really strong though and dont show the signs the other had before they died.I'm really new at this so any advice will be happily taken.I have them in a floating tank which is in my main community tank.I really hope they make it!

Congrats! Only the strong survive! I have africian cichlids and they had babys at first there were like 20 but only 3 survived and now they are strong adults. Its just the circle of life in an established aquarium. What kind of aquarium do you have, what type of fish?

Hi, I only have a small 60 litre tank with placid fish like millies, platys, bristlenose catfish and neon tetras.i have a live plant and a rock cave but not really many places for the babies to hide.I hope to get a larger tank at the end of the year because i love oscars.

thats so funny reading this because we just had baby fish too and they were mollies. we bought my daughter fish for her preschool graduation. we got the tank all set up and got her fish. about a week ago she comes yelling that there are babies in her tank. we thought she was crazy but there they were. we weren't sure what to do. well by the time we found out they had taken care of all of them. but then when we checked again there were 4, so either they were hiding or 4 more had been born. so now we have a small green net hanging inside with them so they are safe. so far so good they seem to be growing.

Thanks for responding!I hope your daughters baby mollies survive. The adult mollies arent normally predators but if they see something small move and it will fit in their mouth, they will chase it and eat it.That happened to us last time..no survivors but i'm sure the adults were very nourished from their meal!

I'm glad to hear that two survived. Are you doing regular water changes? Its important to do them. How often are you feeding the fish?

Wow.. Ia m glad to hear that the 2 are survive. Baby fish are very weak and can die easily.. This morning I also saw lots of baby fish in my pond, they are golden fish and very difficult for me to count how many are there because they keep moving and there are lots of them. Maybe 50 or 60 baby fish. I hope they all survive because they live in an open air pond, hopefully birds dont eat them..
