why people become more & more selfish day by day?

I found around me....Most of the people are not bothering about others ........they are utterly selfish people.......will do any thing for a certain thing at any cost.........

Because some of them feel, if they had it hard getting what they want, then you should too. This is very sad and mean. And they mostly forget where they cam from..
