That's right! Our favorite neko-chan was appointed as the newest Japan Ambassador last March 2008^_^
It was also said that Doraemon is set to help the Ministry of Foreign Affairs promote Japanese Pop Culture.
LOL...I'm was sooo happy upon hearing this since i'm a big fan of Doraemon since God knows when. hahaha!
Also, Doraemon is one of the newest models of the clothing line Baleno.
Everybody loves neko-chan!!! How about you? ^_^

one of my friends even said that watching doreamon is better than watching Mr. Bean (animated version)...in doreamon, you get lessons while in mr. Bean...well, you get MUMBLES.

I believe that Doraemon deserves to be a Japanese Ambassador. This is long overdue. Doraemon cartoon teach us about life - love, friendship, kindness and even care for the environment. Doraemon also emphasizes the technological advances that are possible in the future. I watched Star Trek as a kid and saw their communicators. As a young adult these communicators became the cellphones. I am curious to see which of Doraemon's dogu would eventually become real.
Doraemon is also the epitome of a real friend. Despite Nobita being a loser - weak, has limited intelligence and lazy, Doraemon sticks with him and bails him out a lot of times.

Kawaii-ne.. I am surprised by this retro choice. I remember watching Doraemon as a child and I loved watching it. Neko-chan has been around for so many years, however, his appeal is still strong. I'm glad to see Neko-chan being chosen as the new ambassador.
Kambatte ne, Neko-chan!
