Mountains and mole hills!!!!!

First off let me define mountain as defined in dictionary.com moun·tain –noun 1. a natural elevation of the earth's surface rising more or less abruptly to a summit, and attaining an altitude greater than that of a hill, usually greater than 2000 ft. (610 m). 2. a large mass of something resembling this, as in shape or size. 3. a huge amount: a mountain of incoming mail. 4. (initial capital letter) a steam locomotive having a four-wheeled front truck, eight driving wheels, and a two-wheeled rear truck. 5. Also called mountain wine. British Archaic. a sweet Malaga wine. –adjective 6. of or pertaining to mountains: mountain air. 7. living, growing, or located in the mountains: mountain people. 8. resembling or suggesting a mountain, as in size. —Idiom9. make a mountain out of a molehill. molehill (def. 2). mole·hill –noun 1. a small mound or ridge of earth raised up by a mole or moles burrowing under the ground. —Idiom2. make a mountain out of a molehill, to exaggerate a minor difficulty. As you see I wanted to get technical so that there was no misinterpretation to this. which I'm sure there will be. Lately it seems that everywhere not just on the lot but everywhere people are making mountains out of molehills!!! What is it with society, that they want to reenforce negativity in the world? Wouldn't it be a much nicer place if we lifted each other up when we where down and help eachother? Or am I the only humanitarian here? enclosing the definition of that so people can't complain about the use of humanitarian. hu·man·i·tar·i·an –adjective 1. having concern for or helping to improve the welfare and happiness of people. 2. of or pertaining to ethical or theological humanitarianism. 3. pertaining to the saving of human lives or to the alleviation of suffering: a humanitarian crisis. –noun 4. a person actively engaged in promoting human welfare and social reforms, as a philanthropist. 5. a person who professes ethical or theological humanitarianism. So my fellow mylotters what say ye, should we continue the negativity or show them that mylot is a wonderful place full of the fun loving people that I have come to know and love and help bring a positive spin and help our other mylotters. They say it only takes a small ripple to make a big change/ripple. Let's start that here and hope that we can have it ripple out into other places of our life. Take care and thanks for the responses ahead of time.

I'm not about that negativity, though I do like a good fight. I haven't had a good fight in awhile and I'm thankful for that. Just some pure mylot love! That's what this place is and has been about for me.

woot Ouch o i shall not make a mountain out of a mole hill. If I do bella you can cut me down.... I thank you for this discussion. there are a few women that need a attitude check. I have to ask why women feel they have to cut other women down? Are we not in this together? I am your sister, your mother your grand mother. I have lived through what you are going through. Or I want your experience.

I say kill the moles and bury them in the mountains! LOL Or is that too negative a thought?*sigh* Poor me. Can't ever get it right! LOL All kidding aside, bella, I totally agree with you and I think within our circle that we examplify your wish very well. I've yet to see any of my friends resort to making mountains out of molehills. And our message is spreading. But this is a big forum and we need to be content with reaching one user at a time. Kudos for a great discusssion.

Very lovely discussion and a lovely thought to start, bella. I agree with your idea and I think others should help with the ripple to make a wave of love, instead of hate. 420 anyone? Pass the Peace Pipe. Let's all play nice.

Oh bella, inspite of so many depressing (need it add the meanings now…oh no) things going around, the way you frame your discussions you do manage to bring a smile at least to me. Now to the discussion…even I have noticed that what you say is not completely out of context. Maybe I have not pondered over it before, but I do see it around me everywhere. One thing responsible for this I think is our very notion of the right to freedom and self-expression. Me thinks we all are too cooked up with our rights and goofed up on our responsibilities. If something that I do bothers you, why should I care? Amn’t I entitled to my own freedom to do as I like? And govts too are succumbing to political correctness in a way that was unheard of before. Why they are doing it, I don’t know but for sure they are not leaving behind better societies for our future generation.

I'm glad that I have brought a smile to your face. :) I think it was I was tired of other people bashing other people and misconstruing what people where saying. LOL!!! Yeah it's freedom of speech but shouldn't we build the community up. LOL!!! I see you point and I do agree with it to a point. Thank you for your response and have a nice day.

Michael Moore's Bowling For Columbine showed quite an interesting difference between American media and Canadian media. And it shows in the respective populations' attitude. More so to the point, the negativity you refer to is considerably more prevalent in the U.S. than in Canada. I'll personally also include most of Europe in that category too. It is what the masses are fed that makes the difference. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend that you do! XOXOXO
