The penny costs more to make than it's worth? Should it go away?

It costs more to make a US penny than it is worth. Why should the government lose money making pennies? Should the penny be eliminated? Couldn't that money be put to better use? What do you think? Are there problems with eliminating the penny?

That's a no brainer, get rid of the penny. I mean really, how many people actually use them (beside my father). We just throw them in a jar and wait for them to add up. Stop making them and do something else with the money.
