If you are/were over 40 with children, would you go back to school and/or start a new career if you could? What would do? What would your family think? Would it be good for them? Fair to them? Could you find or make the time? Could you still handle learning new things?

Yes I would, I'm 36 and still thinks there's a lot of new things to learn. It was never too late for any person to pursue something especially if its a dream. Learning new skills, hobbies or even going back to school is fair enough because it will contribute to a better YOU!

No matter my age, I would always seek the desires of my heart. FYI I saw on CNN today that a great grandmother at the age of 85 got her GED. Her story was that back in the 1930's she got married and had 5 kids. Shortly after she was a widow raising 5 kids alone. And just living life from that point on. But she did it! Today she walked in cap and gown with the graduating class. Her next goal is to take on computers. Go Granny, is what I thought watching the story.

Hi There,
As with anything I guess it depends on the circumstnaces at the time. If you are doing well financially and could afford to make the change without it affecting the family then there is nothing wrong with it. If you are not in that position then it would be a mistake. I really don't think it has anything to do with age, but everything to do with circumstances.
cheers,
