Sadly, nowadays in public transport, most people do not acutally give up seats to the elderlys and disabled. Do you agree? Would you be willing to give up your seats to them? If you are, would you give up the seat if u see someone injured but not disabled?

I think that's a reflect of the community's quality. In my city,I can see nearly everyone will give his seat to these elderlys, disabled people and pregnant women.None of them can not get a seat. This is a sign of social harmony.

I used to live in New York City, and many city dwellers are inclined to give up seats. Some don't, but I mostly witnessed decent acts in my many hours in public transit. One time someone gave up their seat for *me* because I passed out for a couple seconds (I blacked out while standing and a few seconds later was in a seat). It was a heart condition that I have since had fixed, but New Yorkers tend to care for their own.
On the other hand, a friend of mine once got a rather funny photo of a defaced sign which originally read "Please give your seat to the elderly and disabled" and had been strategically whited out to say "Please eat the elderly and disabled". Awful, but funny :P

I look at it this way, injured, disabled, elderly and children need EVERYONE to look out for them becase so many take advantage of them. And it is a sign of respect and I think more and more people do not respect others in certain circumstances because they are caught up in their own life.
Once I saw a woman in a store making a big deal about this Large man (as she put it) being slow and getting in her way. She kept making jokes (and she was not a spring chicken) horrible fat jokes when he was just in the next lane at check out. SHe was in front of me and kept looking back like she was talking to me....I was so disgusted at her, because the man was large and he was in a electric wheelchair....the poor lady....being stalked by a crippled fat man. Give me a break.
ANd I most definitely would give up a seat to someone who is injured as I have to working legs.
Good topic profitsg

It is amazing that many people dont give up their seats to the old and disabled. However, when I ride on public transportation, I usually see people doing so. I have even seen many males giving up their seats for females boarding on. (Its soo sweet lol). But yea, if I see a disabled or an elderly who looks to be struggling a bit, I wouldn't mind picking my young butt up to let them have a seat.
