I saw a movie "Blood Diamond", Cast Leonardo DiCaprio as Danny Archer, Djimon Hounsou as Solomon Vandy and Jennifer Connelly as Mandy Bowen.
This movie is in relation to blood diamonds also called converted diamonds, conflict diamonds.
This is very emotional story about diamond smuggling in Africa. The end of the movie touches your heart, when Solomon Vandy steps up the stage and a song starts 'Shine on them' by Nas. I liked music of movie and Song by 'Nas' at the end of the movie. Every dialogue is special in this movie... specially when Archer says 'T.I.A.' means 'This Is Africa'.
The facts written after movie end. There are still 200,000 child soldiers in africa.
Please watch this movie if you get chance.
I tried to explain the story but i suggest it is better to watch movie dear.
There is a conflict between government and (Revolutionary United Front) rebels. These rebel forces use diamond to fund their war effords. While working in RUF diamond field as a forced labourer fisherman Solomon Vandy finds a rare pink colour abt 100 carat diamond. Moment before government troop launch attack captain sees solomon hiding the diamond. Captain gets injured in attack before he captures the stone. Then he and solomon both are taken to prison.
Danny Archer trade arms for diamond with RUF. He is imprisoned after being caught smuggling diamonds in liberia. He is transporting the diamonds to south african diamond company Van De Kaap through one of its executive.
He overhears in prison abt discovery of big stone from captain by solomon. He arranges solomons release from prison and offers to help him finding his family in the exchange of diamond.
So the story starts here and how the solomon is desperate abt meeting his family even though he is not having any money and other side archer not having any family but starving for money. They take help of american Journalist Mandy.
Finaly Archer gets hurt...solomon gets money+family+respect...mandy gets her story...and south african company executive gets prison.
