I was in Asda yesterday and saw the sausage that they have introduced into their shop...they cost 16 pence for eight sausages...so they are really cheap...
I walked past them and why I didnt buy any I dont know!!!.I should have tried them at least!!
Has anyone in Mylot tried them..or like me just walked past them...

Sounds revolting to me Ruby. I am very choosy about my meat and cannot believe that unless Asda is selling knock off this meat is anything but nasty nasty nasty. We should be asking ourselves how come our meat is being sold so cheaply. We need to see some ethical farming and greater humanity in livestock raising. Keep walking past those sausages. Wonder if anyone from Asda is on here and could comment?

It sounds worse and worse Ruby. Knowing Asda the cereal will be Coco pops LOL. No, that would make them more expensive. Have to you seen the price of cereals lately?! That said, there's an Asda not too far from here. I might go and have a squint and see what the ingredients label says.

That would be a darn good idea..a campaign in its own little way!!!..and yes the cereal prices have shot up!!..but Lidls do fairly good ones...I love the honey nut cornflakes..but i will wait until they are on offer before I buy them....the thing or rather one of the things that has shot up in price is basmati rice...so it said in the paper....but i looked in Lidls and it wasnt overly expensive in there....so I suppose it was gathered from the statistics..

You know the saying 'you get what you pay for'? Well I imagine it was coined especially for things like Asda cheapo sausages!
I've not tried them, I must admit, so I might be speaking out of turn. However, when you imagine what meat you can buy for 16p it probably gives you a good indication of how little of it is in those sausages, and how badly it was treated.
I'd rather go without sausages than eat crap ones or ones that perpetuate unethical farming and production practices.

Morning Moo...well that was more than likely why i just walked past them, but I recently saw a review on sausages and believe it or not the raTING THAT THEY GOT WAS VERY GOOD!!oopsie caps key on...they have a vast cereal content and very little `meat`..but apparently are very tasty.Sausages full stop are a bit of a wonder to mankind really, but saying that they are one of my favourite meals....

Good to see you again. Where have you been? Apart from Asda of course!
Listen to me, assuming everyone else has nothign to do but talk on myLot!!
I'm a bit biased towards cheap sausages, as they're normally grim. I do like sausages, but only normally the expensive versions. The most ghastly sort are the ones that are that sort of unearthly pink colour, with meat that's completely devoid of texture.
I bought Mr Moo a sausage making machine thingie at Christmas, so if we ever get our act together we can make our own.

if they were vegetarian sausages at that price, I'd give them a go.
but considering that is the price for a product of a sentient, feeling being, I would go without meat rather than spend so little.
what possible quality of life could there have been for so little financial value to be placed on thier body

What are you doing! Get straight back there and buy some.
I have never seen sausages going that cheap, I would buy them to try if I saw them my kids love sausages. I do not shop in Asda though I go to just what places are walking distance to where I live.

I don't shop at Asda but I think I would, like you have walked past these cheap sausages. It makes me wonder what kind of ingredients must be in there if they can sell them at such a low price, on the other hand are they lost leaders?
