When laid up with a score of discomforting illnesses, you are no more in the limelight. Your erstwhile activities in home as well as friendly circles cease to have any sway. You will be amazed to understand that your kith and kin show atleast a minimum amount of disrespect for your wishes.Hence only in a stage whereby you are stuck to a bed will anyone realize the quality of life that one need to have.

This is so True, and so sad that most of the time our outside family tends to often forget about us, and a lot of times never come to check on us, etc. as well. Most people definately take Health for granted and never understand how someone can make such a Big deal out of it until they have something happen to them as well. It would be nice if things were different and when you get sick you could still get out there and do the things you want to do, but most of the time our bodies use a shut down mechanism so we can learn to better care for ourselves from there on out as well.

hm!good thinking here ,in my culturewe used to say that he tha is healthy does not value perfect health until we are down with an ailment, come to think of it we can only recognise the ssence of good health when we arediown or see people who aresick(i mean really sick)

We often have the best appreciation for things that we have and then lose, like health and ability.

Yes... the fortunates... who have never been sick take their health for granted and don't have a clue what it is like to be sick. Like with everything else in life... you don't really know until you have experienced a major sickness. If you don't have your health... your so called "normal life" is over.

That's the paradox of life. We tend to regret we did not cherish what we have until we lost it. It takes a near lost for one to be awakened. However, at times, there are people who are still in the dark and not aware that they have lost what was once theirs. Hence, we should be aware of ourselves, cherish the present, live in the present :)

Yes, I can fully understand this. Around 20 years ago, I suddenly lost all my vitality after being a very active and energetic therapist. I had a bad bout of 'flu that never seemed to leave me. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrom (ME in the UK) and nothing I did seemed to make a difference. Then I visited a retired doctor specialising in nutrition and discovered I had multiple food sensitivities, but sugar was my greatest problem. Through meditation and diet I came through it and I am now well able to function each day. If anyone is interested in receiving instructions for meditation, please message me and I will be pleased to send them details. :-)

Hi There, This is oh so true! Health is one of the things that we take for granted the most until we lose it. Many unfortunatly onl begin to see the importance of health and well being when they are struck with an illness. Little things that used to seem so easy become so difficult or impossible. If more people thought about that, less would do things that put them in harm's way. cheers,

Very true. While many people think material things will make them happy, only good health will allow a person to truly enjoy life. We never realize how important good health is until we lose it.

Hi! Everybody will come to an end. It's just a matter of acceptance. For us Christian, we are prepared for this since we are sure that God is welcoming us in heaven. There is a very popular line" Live life to its fullest". Yeah, for life is too short. But be sure that when you die, you get an eternal life there.... Sorry, if this is too Biblical for you.
