According to The users by location we have at least 8171 members from China. I have read that the earthquake there has destroyed some 7000 schools with the children in them. Many parents have lost their only child. I want to let you know that every time I read an article my heart breaks for you. I don't know what I would do if I lost a child under those nonresistances. So many people left with out homes too. I admire they way that the Chinese people are handling the whole situation. I just wanted you to know that your in my thoughts and prayers every day.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of them too. How devastating this is, and how sad that so many lives and homes have been lost. To all of our Chinese members, please know that we all are saddened by your losses of any family and friends.

Hello my dear friend deebomb. I am from China and I thank you so much for your great concern to us Chinese and our country. Yeah, we have had many deaths from the Wenchuan Earthquake in Sichuan Province. It has been the most enormous earthquakes we have ever had since 1976, the 7.6-magnitude earthquake. This time the earthquake is measured to be defined as 8.0-magnitude earthquake. It has caused as many deaths as close to seventy thousand, excluding those who have not been found.
I am so happy that our government pays great attention to the earthquake and value it very much. Our beloved Premier Wen Jiabao went to command the rescue of the earthquake in the first time soon after the earthquake took place and later followed by many other party leaders. All of us Chinese have donated some money to help support the quake areas to help them reconstruct their homes at a shorter time. We have got many different ways for the donation, either by sending text messages to donate or by some organizations. From this earthquake, we are seen more of a united nation and I deeply appreciate our government and people and also many other countries that have helped and are helping us.
Your discussion has moved me a lot. Here on behalf of all of the Chinese, especially Chinese friends here at Mylot, I extend my greatest thanks to you and those who care about us and our country. All the best to you.

I have read about the big concern about flooding from the backing up of rivers. I'm glad that they finely got it worked out. It is always good when the leader go the place of devastation. It does encourage the people to work for recovery. I hope that they reconstruct better schools.

Thank you very much for the best response, my dear friend. There is no problem for the reconstruction of the new schools and houses as our government is doing its best to help and support the people in the quake areas. I am very happy that our government shows great concern to us people with great appreciation. Take care, my dear deebomb.

This is a nice post to let our friends from China know that we are thinking about them. It is so sad what happened. All over our world we have things happening that is devastating to the rsidents. We as a world need to pray for each other. We might live around the world from each other, but we are all neighbors. We all share our world. We have the internet to communicate with each other. Humans are so resillient, its amazing what you can handle when you have no choice.

I heard about this on the news and I feel so sorry for these people also. I would hate to be in their position too. We had an earthquake come through our area too but we were lucky enough not to sustain damages. I pray for the people of China also and I hope they can get their lives back on track soon. I know how devastating it must be and still is.

stephcjh what part of the US do you live in. I haven't read anything about any earthquakes recently here. Just all the tornadoes and the flooding in Iowa. yes I hope they can get their lives back together soon too. I can't imagine living in a tent with the summer heat and problems with water. We should give thanks to God every day that we haven't experienced such devastation. Katrina was very bad but i don't think it can compare to the earthquake in China
