I know a firend of mine was saying that it was greta and how clear the local channels were but then the next day I saw him he said nahh man I lost like six of my favorite channells now all my channels are nice and clear but there is nothing to watch!!! hahahaha I broke out in laughter at him. It still funny, I mean whats te point in TV if all you got is crap right? Well if you have one please tell me the cons and pros!

I bought my converter boxes early as I get my signal from rabbit ears. Most of my local stations are already ready for DTV because they are HD. But, two of my stations are gone. I used to get one station, but they moved it to another frequency in preparation to the digital transition. Now, I have a very hard time getting it. It should be back to its regular spot next February. Another station is in Mexico and I think I get it from an LCTV which is an analog station that will not be going digital. It's kinda far away and they boost the signal with this mini station. I may need a splitter between my converter box and my analog television so that I don't have to unplug anything to watch it.
I do have some split channels, but not that many right now. I think, in the future, there will be more. The picture is crystal clear.
If you have satellite, you probably won't need a converter box. But, there's a common misconception that you don't need an antenna if you get the converter box. If you are using an antenna now, you will definitely need it with the box. In fact, it might be good to get a stronger antenna if possible.

If you use a dish, you are already recieving a digital signal and able to process it with your present equipment; so you don't need a converter box. The convertor boxes are only for those people who have older TVs that aren't digital ready and can't process the new signals. If, for some reason, you wanted to ditch the dish and get over-the-air signals, all you would need to do is buy a digital antenna, not a convertor box.

You do not need a converter box since you use dish. People who have tv's that use rabbit ears or who dont have satellite or cable will need the converter boxes you will not have to worry about getting one as long as you have satellite.
