I have lived here in Mexico for eight years. Alot of people are afraid to travel here becuase of reports of violence. I know that in the USA there are reports daily of drive buys and mas shootings. The average person in the state of Texas owns 8 guns. The average person in mexico owns no guns. What country do you think has more violence? Are you afraid to travel to mexico?

Hi I love to travel and would have no problem visiting Mexico (except raising the funds to get there LOL) Any where in the world has crime incidents that happen. I don't think I would go to Iraq or Afghanistan right now for a holiday though.
Ellie :D
PS Thanks for PM I can't send messages again at the moment, could yesterday for a short time but unable to again for some reason today.

I will have to agree on traveling to afganisn and Iraq.
Funds are always a consideration! The plane ticket is the big cost aftre arriving things are very inexpensive...I know of a decent hotel 1 blk from the beach for $10 usa a night and you can eat out in the cental market for a dollar and a half a meal. Let me know when your ready to vacation I can be an excellent guide For the cost of a fresh mango papaya pinapple juice $2 USA LOL.
thanks
sincerely

I was supposed to travel to Mexico for some product exhibition 2 months ago as I am the only one here who can speak Spanish. But my boss had canceled it because we already have representatives there and they sure can take care of the product exhibition. At the time I was offered to go, I really wasn't afraid of the possibility of going there; a few of my officemates did ask me if I was afraid to travel there. I think they do have that same perception.

Its nice to here from another part of the world on this issue. I thought it was only people from the USA and Canada who had a inhibited view about mexico, I wonder why Mexico has such a bad rep. I have heard about crime and corruption here in 8 years and witnessed some. Its really in comparison to the USA, far less. One thing I will say is that your company might have been better to have sent you here as there reprentative but oh well maybe next time. You can always come on your vacation. Thanks for the post! Take care! Sicerely David

A nissian w/ a mini air cond.camper or a volkswagon. Include a projection v w/dvd player and sound. Throw in some collapsable chairs and a movie screen, you have your own portable business for the small village communities. :) Let me know when your coming! :)

Personally, I would think it would depend more on any one area other than country. But there is a lot of Violence and shootings going on in a lot of the USA so I know there are unsafe areas almost anywhere you go. Personally, there are parts of Mexico I have always wanted to visit like Puerto Vallarta, etc. and vow one of these days to get there if I can. I want to try some Good home cooked Mexican food as well. Just would bring lots of Tums with me as well.

No. If given a chance I would love to travel in your country because I know tacos are famous in your place I would love to try that there. Here in our country there's also a lot of violence and corruption But I still see my country a beautiful one.

I will put a pray in for the person giving out chaces to travel to Mexico to grant one to you! All you have to do is take the leap and do it. The taco here are Better than taco bell they have real pieces of barbecued beef stake loaded with fresh vegies and fresh salsas all piled on top of a fresh tortia. A bit on the discusting side they have eyeball, brain, intestine tocas as well, stuff most people wont even feed to their dogs. Tell me really what do you need to have the chance? Thanks for the post. Adios

My sister and I were in Mexico at night one time. Some guy came runing down the street and banged into us trying to make us drop our purses. Thank God he didn't pull them off our arms we beat it out of there. Dayteime in the tourist areas is probably safe.

Things like this can happen anywhere! Where you in a border town? People can be more deperate in abboundance in these towns! Tourist areas are generally safer in the days thats for sure. But rural areas as sell can be quite nice and the people a but more relaxed...but like I say these things can happen anywhere. \\\\\\\\\ever been to the bad parts of LA or NY. You have to be alert no matter where you are and have street smarts!
