It doesn't really matter if he deserves it or not, he was popular with the people voting in the primary! That is the way our system works whether it is deserved or not!

What do we mean by deserved? If we are talking about experience in government, I guess guess he should have lost out to Hillary and should lost out to John McCain, both of his colleagues in the Sentate have far more experience in government. I guess if we talk about whether he came up with any solid policies that Americans want to get enacted, I guess the answer has to be no. Much of his campaign during the primaries was based on the 'feel good' message of the need to change. But having said all that, Barak Obhama was sorely tested in his campaign for the White House. Hillary Clinton is a seasoned politician and used allot of "Dirty" tricks against him. He was not helped by his crazy pastor or a wife who seemed very bad at using sound bites. And inspite of all of this, he won a somewhat messy but democractic process of being chosen as a presidential candidate. Say what you like about the American system but the primary process is meant to weed out the less suitable and he passed a particularly grulling session. Of course, Hillary made allot of mistakes in her campaign and John McCain may not make the mistakes that Hillary made. However, while Hillary did run an amazingly poor campaign, considering all her advantages, that should not detract from the fact that Barak Obhama fought a good fight to get the candidacy.

Tigertang, the question is did he deserve it, not that he won it! My answer was it does not matter what anyone thinks if he deserved it or not...he won it. No matter how he did it and how inexperienced he is in the political scene, the bottom line is he won it.

as he has been linked having the same mindset as our traitor trudeau,I think if he gets in,someone (your God) had better help the U.S. as well as the rest of the world,Trudeau basically destroyed Canada, and we are still trying to recover.

the real unfortunate part,in both our countriesis that we can only elect the rich or lawyers. the rich only want to add to their pocket and lawyers as we all know, could not tell the truth or act in anyones favour but their own. If a person from the grassroots were able to run, then we would be able to see how well a country can be run,we had one,but is now retired from politics, unfortunatly. He was a newspaperman, not owning, but employed, and he changes our province to the best state it has ever been in,now they are trying to destroy it again as we had to elect another rich idiot. mabe someday,we will get lucky again. Many Blessings

"The problem is that the Republican candidate isn't a whole lot different in their thinking. McCain just has more experience," I'm afraid if anyone thinks there isn't a whole lot of difference between the thinking of McBush and Obama the media sure hasn't been doing their job in covering the issues! I hear ya Mac! The problem is that the Republican candidate isn't a whole lot different in their thinking. McCain just has more experience, I am not sure if that is a good thing or not at this point! LOL!

Well, he won the nomination fair and square so the voters in his party feel he deserves it, that's all that matters. I hope enough voters also think he "deserves" to be President! Annie

Obama is dangerous, plain and simple. he has managed to get through the entire primary without having committed himself to a single stance on any issue. I could be changed in my opinio, although I doubt it. He needs to start telling me what he beleives and why. I know nothing about this man except that the media loves him. Hilary's ineptitued certainly hurt her but the media was at least as much of an influenec. The media annointed Obama messiah long before Hilary shot herself in the foot. Don't get me wrong Hilary is a nightmare in and of herself and I beleive that should either of them run this country we will learn what socialism is like. People wake up. Force this guy to get off of the fence and take a stance on something. The only thing that scares me is I think McCain is just as bad as the other two. I'm left with no horse in this race. God help us all.
