Mummy's do the funniest things at times.

As I was going to my Mums today, I asked her before I went if she had any books for me. She is a big reader like me and saves up all her books for me to have. I do the same for her too.
She said she had quite a few for me and so I was quite excited as I was running out of books and it would save me a trip to the library for some. Well, when I got there she got me the books out and was showing them to me, and I did not say anything but the books she was giving me were ones I had given to her a few months ago! She must have forgot.
So I have brought home a carrier bag full of books that I have already read and now I am stuck with them again! I shall have to take them to my local charity shop and see if they will have them, sometimes they offer other books in exchange.
Does anyone else's Mum ever do funny things?

LOL! That is really funny for sure she forgot that you gave that to her...I know you will get a good trade in a charity shop gemini..Anyway, My mom makes me smile again last time I talked to them over the phone, she was cooking my favorite food and told her how much I miss it and I tried to ask her again the steps in making it and my sister assured me that she will email me. Anyway, while talking to mom she just told me just wait and I'll send it to the air..I was laughing a lot and I wish it's possible!

LOL My gran and I do this a lot! And she is forever forgetting that I gave her the books in the first place! lol I also get lots of books off of weemams husband and that makes a huge difference as I always have books at hand to keep me going - I am going to need them even more than usual when I am on holiday as I won't have a wireless connection for the laptop! lol xxx

I shall be off to the library tomorrow I think, and I had a voucher for my birthday. I may go to the bookshop with it!

I think the older we get the worse our memory is unless we're one of the lucky ones who are able to retain their memory. My mom doesn't have a good memory at all, not due to age but due to a fall from a horse. The horse took off with her on it and suddenly stopped and it threw her off and she hit the bumper of a car and slid the whole length of it. She wasn't expected to live but she made it and had two more kids after. This happened roughly 50 years ago and she hasn't had much of a memory since.

She can be, she will admit it too, but only with silly things, not with serious things.

Bless her ..a lovely thought though,my Mums always doing quirky little things really and im used to it all!!..But re books she has a huge pile on the top of herr wardrobe..all these are not books but magazines that she has had over the years..they are really good ones..Home and Garden and Country life etc..I cant afford to ever buy them ...but I do like to look at Mums....So every now and again i will trot upstairs and pull amag from the top of her wardrobe and sometimes it can be dated 1970 someting..but even then I still enjoy it..and I enjoy lookingat what things cost in the 70s and 80s...long may she keep those mags.
